Happy birthday, Rolling Ridge! 🎉
Amazon Web Services and LEF helped Rolling Ridge Elementary celebrate its 50th birthday with a Golden Jubilee filled with STEM activities, music, games, and community spirit.
A highlight of the celebration was a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new playground shade canopy, generously sponsored by Amazon. Amy Riccardi LCPS School Board Member Sterling and Loudoun County Supervisor Koran Saines joined school and community leaders to mark the start of a project that will give Rolling Ridge students a cooler, more comfortable place to play, learn, and gather for years to come.

🎉 That's a wrap on the 2025–26 school year! And just look at this energy — that's what learning looks like when it's hands-on and fun.
This year, with your support, LEF helped fund classroom grants that brought projects like this PROPEL challenge to life, provided scholarships to graduating seniors, and kept kids fueled and ready to learn — delivering 54,190 weekend meal bags and supporting 21 in-school pantries through our Fueled program.
To every student, teacher, and donor who made this year possible — thank you.
Wishing everyone a happy, restful summer! ☀️

What a year for Fueled!
This week, LEF’s food security program wrapped up its final pack night of the school year.
Together, volunteers packed 54,190 meal bags, a 14% increase over last year. Fueled now serves more than 2,000 students across 57 schools, helping meet the growing need for food and basic hygiene support throughout Loudoun County.
None of this would be possible without our incredible community. Thank you to the donors who invest in this work, the volunteers who show up pack after pack, and the schools, businesses, and community members who host food, snack, and hygiene drives throughout the year.
Because of your support, more Loudoun County Public Schools students have access to the essentials they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
Thank you for answering the call and helping care for our neighbors.

This spring LEF stepped into the classroom to see the brilliant work Loudoun County Public Schools teachers are achieving with Innovation in Education grants.
At Blue Ridge Middle School, an LEF grant supported Liz O’Neill as she ran the 8th grade in-house art field trip titled “A Day in Clay.” Students participated in three workshops: wheel thrown pottery, clay birds (handbuilding), and underglaze transfers (a finishing technique).
Because of the LEF grant, O’Neill was able to bring in artists skilled in ceramics to augment the students’ experience.
The next classroom grant window opens in August.
LCPS teachers, we hope you'll apply next school year. Have a wonderful and well-deserved summer break!

CAST (Community and Schools Together) students are a valued part of the Fueled team, showing up each week to support their peers by helping pack and organize emergency meal bags.
What started a few years ago with one high school has grown into a strong partnership with multiple high schools, creating consistent, hands-on opportunities for students ages 18–22 to build workplace readiness, confidence, and independence.
Through Fueled, students work alongside job coaches, transition teachers, and LEF staff to develop meaningful skills in a real community setting.
In partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools, programs like CAST are helping students with disabilities reach their full potential and build fulfilling, independent lives.

🔨Big news!
We are thrilled to share that 100WomenStrong of Loudoun County, Virginia is awarding LEF a $20,000 grant to launch Summer in the Trades, a brand new week-long camp for 8th graders that puts hands-on career exploration front and center.
Led by the LCPS Division of Career, Technical, and Adult Education, the camp will welcome 200 students across two sessions, giving them a firsthand look at eight CTE pathways, from healthcare and construction to culinary arts, agriculture, computer science, and more.
Because the best time to discover what you love is before you have to choose.
Thank you, 100WomenStrong, for investing in the next generation of Loudoun’s workforce! 💪
Fueled’s partnership with the Bainum Family Foundation and Bainum Foundation Farm is about more than fresh produce. It’s a reminder of how powerful student influence can be.
As the Potomac Falls High School family liaison shared, parents were eager for the produce, but students were hesitant. That changed when one student tried the peppers, loved them, and told others. Soon, more students were asking for produce each week.
Sometimes, it just takes one student to spark a shift.
Thank you to our partners at Bainum Foundation Farm, a locally owned and operated farm near Middleburg, for making this possible.

The Loudoun Education Foundation teamed up with Microsoft and Sycamore Sustainable Electronics Recycling to provide 200 graduating seniors from Park View, Dominion, and Tuscarora high schools with refurbished Lenovo ThinkPads and Chromebooks.
Students earned their devices through strong attendance, on-time graduation with the Class of 2026, and a recommendation from a counselor or family liaison.
ACCESS Academy students helped get the laptops ready by installing new operating systems.
Now, these grads are stepping into what’s next with the tools they need to succeed. 🙌
