We are excited to announce that applications for Superintendent Wray’s 2026–2027 Superintendent Student Advisory Council (SSAC) are coming soon! We can’t wait to welcome our next group of student leaders from grades 5–12 who will have the opportunity to work alongside Superintendent Wray, share their voices, and help shape the future of Turner County Schools!

Over the past two years, our Superintendent Student Advisory Council has helped build momentum across our district by giving students a seat at the table and making their perspectives part of important conversations. From sharing ideas about school culture and student engagement to providing feedback on district initiatives and identifying opportunities for improvement, our student leaders have helped us see our schools through the eyes of those who matter most - our students!

As we continue building momentum through increasing consistency, strengthening accountability, and doing whatever it takes to help every student succeed, listening to our students remains an important part of our work. The SSAC provides a meaningful opportunity for students to develop leadership skills, collaborate with others, share ideas, and see how their voices can make a difference.

We are incredibly proud of the students who have served over the past two years, and we look forward to seeing how our next group will continue that momentum!

🏆💙🧡 TURNER COUNTY ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME NIGHT! 🧡💙🏆

Tomorrow night, Friday, October 16th, we invite our Titan family and community to join us as we celebrate the legacy, accomplishments, and outstanding contributions of our Turner County Athletics Hall of Fame inductees!

This special night is about honoring the people and teams who have helped shape Turner County athletics and left a lasting mark on our school and community. We are proud to recognize this year’s inductees:

🇺🇸 A GIFT THAT WILL KEEP HISTORY ALIVE! 📚

Turner County Schools extends a heartfelt thank-you to the Victoria Evans Memorial Library System and its director, Christy Casimiro, for donating the library’s collection of Constitution documents to Turner County High School!

This meaningful donation gives our students a valuable opportunity to explore the historical documents and founding principles that have shaped our nation. These resources will help bring history to life, deepen students’ understanding of our nation’s founding, and encourage a greater appreciation for the rights and freedoms that define our democracy.

We are grateful to the Victoria Evans Memorial Library System for investing in our students and helping preserve these important pieces of American history for future generations. Partnerships like this strengthen our schools and create meaningful learning opportunities beyond the classroom!

Each week, we will recognize one male and one female student who:
🌟 Achieves a high GPA, demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence.
🌟 Shows leadership qualities, both on and off the field, setting a positive example for their peers.
🌟 Possesses strong character and consistently displays integrity and respect.
🌟 Is willing to assist wherever needed, going above and beyond to support others.
🌟 Is service-oriented, actively participating in community service and giving back to others.

These students embody what it means to be a true scholar-athlete, balancing their dedication to their studies with their passion for sports. We look forward to honoring those who lead by example and inspire us all to strive for greatness!

🍎💙🧡 October is Principal Appreciation Month! 🧡💙🍎

Great schools are built by great leaders, and we are fortunate to have three principals who are committed to making a difference every day in Turner County Schools!

Join us in recognizing Mr. Bryson Daniels, Mr. Daniel Purvis, and Mr. Laberton Sims for the leadership, dedication, and hard work they bring to our schools. Each plays an important role in supporting our students and staff, strengthening our schools, and moving our district forward.

From setting high expectations and promoting consistency and accountability to embracing innovative ideas and finding new ways to support student success, our principals help turn our district’s mission and vision into action. Their leadership helps create a culture where relationships matter, teachers are supported, students are encouraged to reach their full potential, and everyone is working toward a common goal.

We appreciate the many ways each of these leaders shows up for their schools, supports their teams, and keeps student success at the center of the work. It takes strong leadership, teamwork, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement to move our schools forward, and we are proud of the leadership happening across Turner County!

Titan families, we hope to see you TONIGHT, Wednesday, October 7th, as all three of our schools open their doors for an evening focused on connecting families with our schools and supporting student success! 🧡 💙

Here’s what’s happening across the district:
🏫 Turner County Elementary School - Open House
⏰ 4:30–6:00 PM
Come visit your child’s classroom, connect with teachers, and learn more about their progress this school year.

🎓 Turner County Middle & High School - Open House
⏰ 4:30–6:00 PM
Parents and families are invited to pick up student progress reports and meet with teachers to discuss academic progress.

➗🧪 Turner County Middle School - Math & Science Remix
⏰ 6:00–7:00 PM
Stick around after Open House for a special night of student-led lessons, content demonstrations, and a Q&A session designed to give families a closer look at what students are learning in math and science!

🤝 Strong schools are built through strong partnerships with our families. These evenings are a great opportunity to ask questions, celebrate progress, learn how you can support your child, and stay connected to what is happening in our classrooms.
