Greater Loudoun Hygiene Study Club

Our October meeting was an outstanding experience!
Katie Hart, our local ZimVie rep, gave our hygienists the opportunity to place implants themselves using the actual ZimVie Implant kit that their doctors use!

Through this hands-on placement of dental implants, our hygienists gained a deeper understanding of the implant's anatomy, surrounding tissues, and potential access challenges, which allows them to develop targeted cleaning techniques and provide more effective maintenance instructions to patients, ensuring the long-term health of the implants.

This was a unique and fun experience for our members and we can’t thank ZimVie and Katie Hart enough for their generosity and all the work it took it make it happen!

Also a big Thank YOU to Loudoun OMS surgical implant experts Heather & Cristina who came to share their knowledge. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Last night we kicked off our 2024-2025 academic year with chiropractor & best selling author Dr. Chris Perron's fabulous presentation to guide us through 7 Habits for Healthy Living. He concentrated his program with exercises and information to relieve the occupational stresses specific to the postures required of dental hygienists everyday. In the words of our members: Awesome! Great class! Fantastic and Timely! Truly enjoyed this lecture! Could not have come at a better time!

As Loudoun Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery sponsors the 14th year of a Study Club specifically for the Dental Hygienists in our area, our continuing goal is to facilitate learning opportunities to help you grow to be the best in your profession with programs featuring the latest technology and techniques in the dental world. We will also address some of the problems hygienists face themselves, created by the unique postures and movements you maintain all day, every day. This program year offers 13.5 PACE certified CE credits.

Our study club meetings create an engaging and fun environment that fosters friendships among peers, and gives you the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences to strengthen your skills and knowledge in all aspects of health and dentistry. Come join us!
