Turner County High School FFA is a student run non-profit organization. The Turner County FFA is made up of students in grades 9-12.

Turner county FFA is proud of Alyssa Howell and Molly Williford for competing in the Area 5 contest on Tuesday. Alyssa competed in the Floral Design CDE. Molly competed in the FFA Quiz CDE!! Both ladies represented Turner County FFA well with their hard work!!

Turner County FFA is having our annual Mum sale! We have a certain number of each color, so please call, text, or email Brook Hand or Ben Lavender to reserve your order. Phone numbers are on the attached flyer. Mums will be delivered between October 2nd thru 6th. We will post exact date on Facebook when we have a definite date. Payment due upon pick up. Alyssa Howell attended the south region floral design mini clinic yesterday to prepare for the upcoming Area contest. We are so proud of her hard work and the beautiful arrangement she created.

Congratulations to Waylon Hobbs on competing at the Area 5 Tractor driving contest on Tuesday. Waylon finished in 3rd place out of 18 competitors. He only missed 1st place by 1 point. Turner County FFA is proud of you Waylon!

Turner County High School FFA members have had a busy week! FFA members competed in the floral design contest in Moultrie. Also several FFA members went to the AG EXPO in Moultrie to see the new innovations in Agriculture. Also were able to interact with many different industry professionals.

Turner County High School FFA members had a great time at the Georgia National Fair for FFA Day at the Fair. Students got to interact with the area and state FFA officer teams and over 4,000 FFA members from around the state. Students enjoyed a keynote speaker and time looking at different booths set up.

The Turner County High and Middle School FFA will be selling mums from the greenhouse everyday this week. The mums will be available for pickup between 3-5 in the afternoon. The colors available are Bronze, Yellow, Red, White, and Lavender. We have 270 available plants so it will be first come first serve. The mums are in 9 inch pots and are just starting to bloom so should last all season. They will be $12 a piece or $10 a piece if you buy more than 10. Cash and checks accepted.

Two students from Turner County High School FFA competed at the Area 5 CDE’s in Moultrie Tuesday. These students did an excellent job at their first FFA Contest as High Schoolers.

Waylon Hobbs competed in Tractor Driving placing 10th out of 20 competitors.

Darcus Dill placed 21st out of 40 competitors in the FFA Quiz contest.

NOW OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY:

Turner County Canning Plant opening on Tuesday and Thursday by appointment only.

Time Slots will be 8-10, 10:15-12:15, 12:30-2:30

Anyone with a temperature above 100.4, cough, or shortness of breath, or have been exposed to the Covid-19 virus should not enter the facility.

We are only running 3 work stations per time slot and only allowing 3 persons per group at a work station.

The agriculture teachers will sanitize all workspaces and equipment before, between, and after customers.

Customers are asked to do as much prep work before arriving if possible. We require masks and social distancing.

$0.87 per can
$3.00 per tray for blanching
$8.00 per bushel for corn creaming
If bagging anything for the freezer customer provides the bags.

Congratulations to Elijah Alford. He competed in the Area 5 Discussion Meet yesterday. Elijah was selected as 1 of the 2 finalists to represent our area at the state contest. There was only two selected out of 14.
