Wrapping up a week with the Crater Region Workforce Board / Virginia Career Works Crater Region Drone Workshop. This was the first time Digital Pioneers built a drone from our custom kit. Don't let the boneyard of parts fool you, this was a great time with a lot of flying, confusing, flying again, and hard landings! At the end, we have newly minted certified pilots who had a great time. Thanks to our host Richard Bland College of William & Mary and all of our guest speakers: DroneUp, Dedrone, Ferguson Dale 🤟, and John Knag. Want to know more? Reach out to us!

This week, , is all about encouraging and empowering young tech enthusiasts—which we happen to do year-round. A parent of one of our recent students thanked us for doing just that: "Thank you for this wonderful opportunity that gave my son an intense amount of motivation... He has not stopped talking about it. His confidence is up the roof. He has continued to research computer parts and is looking for a simple item that can be renovated. This is not like my son, but you were able to get something connected within him."
Whether it's a long-lived passion or a new area of interest, STEAMBridge wants to help you (or your teen) harness the power of technology to shape a brighter future. Reserve a spot at one of our upcoming workshops: https://steambridgeonline.com/workshops/

Today, we join the nation in celebrating ! In honor, we'd like to share the lesser-known accomplishments of a few founding fathers:
đź’ˇ George Washington earned innovator status prior to his presidency. Devoted to enhancing his crops, Washington studied farming sciences intently. He ultimately discovered new methods for crop rotation and received a patent for a special flour mix.
đź’ˇ Thomas Jefferson was a successful inventor of technologies still used today. Like Washington, he was a farmer and sought to improve his work, which led to inventing the moldboard plow. In addition, he created the very first swivel chair, using his knowledge of science and math.
💡 Benjamin Franklin is known for making significant contributions to science, particularly in understanding how electricity works. But that isn't his only STEM offering—using STEM principles, he also invented bifocals as well as the glass armonica, a musical instrument.
You can make your mark on STEM, too—and we're here to help you do it. Learn more about how we operate: https://steambridgeonline.com/what-we-do/

Today, , calls for two important celebrations in :
❶ International Day of Women and Girls in Science recognizes that girls and women make critical contributions to STEM and deserve equal opportunities in the field. 🔬👩
❷ Observed on Thomas Edison’s birthday, National Inventors’ Day is a celebration of American ingenuity and inspires Americans to innovate for a better future. 🚀🌎
In honor, we’d like to share the wise words of Inventor Patsy O’Connell Sherman: “Anyone can become an inventor as long as they keep an open and inquiring mind and never overlook the possible significance of an accident or apparent failure.”
The STEAMBridge team empowers all learners to develop the skills and mindset for innovation. Find your inner inventor and join us at our upcoming workshops: https://steambridgeonline.com/workshops/
