Oftentimes my clients struggle to have enough water/ fluids through the day because they don't like drinking water or feel thirsty. My first suggestion in those cases is to find healthy unsweetened drinks that you enjoy, i.e. herbal teas or water with a splash of fresh juice and variate them throughout a day. One example of a wonderful herbal tea is calendula which is packed with antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory and cancer fighting properties.

A word of caution on herbal teas is that most can not be taken for more than 2-3 cups a day because of their medicinal properties. Check this article on the benefits of calendula.

Have just added another certification under my belt: Weight Loss Specialist: a program that combines nutrition, exercise, and behavior coaching. Here are the 5 key (and sometimes surprising) findings.

1. Most people regain part, if not more of the weight after dieting. The key is to find the routine that would be best for you in the long run rather than focusing on short-term benefits.

2. A Low-carb diet has no advantage over a low-fat diet. Individual preferences are key in finding the best long-term approaches.

3. Protein keeps you feeling full longer while fiber creates bulk without adding significant calories. Having more of those in place of fats and carbs is the way to get fewer calories minimizing the feeling of hunger.

4. Losing weight means losing fat AND muscle mass. Protein intake along with some forms of resistance training is crucial for having a strong and healthy body.

5. Protein will help you feel full longer while fiber creates bulk without adding significant calories. Swapping some of the calories with these types of food will help cut calories minimizing the feeling of hunger.

Celebrating Valentine's Day...

I am inviting here multiple points of view on the subject of LOVE. What is it? How do we express it and experience it in our lives? Some aspects are presented in the discussion facilitated by Coach Samer Hassan and his community members.

Here, I wanted to share another manifestation of Love, that I unexpectedly discovered on a ...parking lot! Once, I was waiting for my daughter in the middle of a large parking area. I am a big cars lover and after spotting some of my favorite BMWs and Audis, I suddenly realized that each and every model, regardless of the price tag, carries a message of Love: Love for passengers in an attempt to make cars as safe as possible by adding seat belts, airbags, LED daylights, etc.; Love for design lovers, making cars look modern and sleek; Love for our planet offering low emission or electric models. As the list was expanding in my head, I imagined a design team behind each parked car, where everyone was representing his/her own perspective of Love...

That "parking lot Love insight" made me look very differently at many things surrounding us afterward: starting from a box of cereal, up to houses being built or traffic lights...

Difficulties in establishing relationships may be due to very different reasons: lack of clear understanding of own needs, vague intentions, unclear communication, inadequate reactions that may carry a load of previous painful experiences, as well as other reasons. If you see clear patterns in your relationships going the wrong way or if you have specific goals for building long-lasting connections, an individual coaching session would be a great way to explore this area and define ways to improve your communication and connections skills.

December is the last month of the year when we often look back and assess what has been achieved. Also, for many in the U.S., it’s time for major celebrations.
