Oftentimes my clients struggle to have enough water/ fluids through the day because they don't like drinking water or feel thirsty. My first suggestion in those cases is to find healthy unsweetened drinks that you enjoy, i.e. herbal teas or water with a splash of fresh juice and variate them throughout a day. One example of a wonderful herbal tea is calendula which is packed with antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory and cancer fighting properties.

Have just added another certification under my belt: Weight Loss Specialist: a program that combines nutrition, exercise, and behavior coaching. Here are the 5 key (and sometimes surprising) findings.

1. Most people regain part, if not more of the weight after dieting. The key is to find the routine that would be best for you in the long run rather than focusing on short-term benefits.

2. A Low-carb diet has no advantage over a low-fat diet. Individual preferences are key in finding the best long-term approaches.

3. Protein keeps you feeling full longer while fiber creates bulk without adding significant calories. Having more of those in place of fats and carbs is the way to get fewer calories minimizing the feeling of hunger.

4. Losing weight means losing fat AND muscle mass. Protein intake along with some forms of resistance training is crucial for having a strong and healthy body.
