What an incredible day at Sparks Martial Arts / SHC BJJ Team!

We were proud to celebrate the hard work and dedication of all our students from both our Kids and Adult Programs. This special event included promotions to Yellow Belt, Gray Belt, Blue Belt, and Purple Belt, recognizing the commitment, discipline, and progress of our team both on and off the mats.

A special thank you to Professor Fabiano Papel for joining us and teaching a takedown technique to our kids before the promotion ceremony. It was a great learning experience and a memorable addition to an already amazing day.

Congratulations to all the students who earned new stripes and belts. Your effort and consistency continue to make our academy proud. Keep training, keep growing, and enjoy the journey!

At the 1st stage of Virginia 2026, SHC BJJ/Sparks Martial Arts showed up in a big way! 💥

We had a massive turnout and came home with strong results: 🥇 1 gold, 🥈 8 silvers, and 🥉 5 bronzes!

But beyond the medals, we brought something even more meaningful to the mats—unity across generations. For the first time, we had competitors as young as 5 years old all the way to athletes over 50, proving that the Jiu-Jitsu we build is truly for everyone.

Proud is an understatement. We keep growing, together, on and off the mats. Oss! 🥋🔥
