Fighting Buddha” is his memoir that details his forty year journey in martial arts and meditation training, and 25 years of Buddhist practice. Using autobiographical anecdotes, along with martial art fighting strategies, Buddhist folk stories, and koan and sutra teachings, it explores both the benefits and detriments of each practice, as well as how they complement each other as a singular practice. For Buddhist practitioners the book details strategies of martial arts training and fighting are articulated as a plan to realistically cultivate and apply Buddhist concepts, and for martial artists it explains how to realistically apply Buddhist concepts in the development of the mental discipline needed for martial arts training. For practitioners of both disciplines, there is a clear articulation of what to look for and avoid in both practices drawn from the authors personal experience.
