Hello ECA friends and families.
As we approach our last and final day, we wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you. For the last 15 years, we have been allowed and honored to have the opportunity to teach so many children, create opportunity for paths that would not have been an option and started so many new careers for teachers looking to make a difference in the lives of students. Our 15 years have brought so many fond memories that will never be forgotten. We want all of you to know that every student that has walked through our doors has meant so much to us along with their families.
Our closure is not a goodbye, but rather, in the words of Woody from Toy Story, "See you later partner."
Thank you, to all of you, for an incredible 15 years together. We will miss all of you but know, we will always be Griffins, through and through.
With all the love,
Your ECA staff.

6 months ago we heard, our school was being closed. The votes came in and due to financial risk and enrollment decreases, our doors would close at the end of this school year. The news felt surreal. How could they not see our value, maybe we could fight it, how do we make this not be so? But we knew, it was our fate and the next 6 months would be a test of our loyalty and love for every single one of our students.
With the news of our looming closure, it was assumed that we would lose many staff and teachers as this is the norm when news like this comes to a school. But not us, not ECA. Not a single teacher or staff member left. Instead, we all faced the news and vowed to give our all until the very last day.
Well that day was today. It’s amazing how 6 months can seem so long but today, for us, it wasn’t long enough. Our doors opened at 7:50am like every morning and staff stood at the front waiting to greet students as they arrived. Our day began with celebrations of our student’s achievements, certificates and words of encouragement as they move forward without us. Although rewarding to acknowledge their growth and achievements, it was undoubtedly felt that we were grieving. All these moments with OUR kids and families were set to be our lasts.
As the day progressed, many of our graduates and Junior students returned to spend more time with their friends and favorite staff. It’s not often you see kids return to school when they don’t have to but, ours did.
There is an unspoken connection that was created within the walls of ECA that will never be found anywhere else. ECA provided education but beyond that, provided refuge, safety and acceptance. There will never be another school like this.
Thank you to all the families that have entrusted us with their children’s education and well being. Thank you to every student that allowed us to be a part of their educational journey.
ECA will be forever grateful for the years we’ve had to create a one of a kind community. Once a Griffin, always a Griffin.
The day closed with hugs, many tears and smiles as staff fought to the last second to give support and encouragement although our hearts were breaking inside. We love you all, and always will. We will walk into an empty building tomorrow with the sounds of your banter, laughter and silliness missing and our hearts will break a little more. We will miss ALL of you.
Office staff and admin will be available at ECA until the end of June. If you need records, support for enrollment or anything else, we will be there to help.
We can’t say goodbye so we will say, see you later.

❤️💛💚 ECA Junior Jubilee 💚💛❤️
This afternoon we took some time to celebrate our Junior students. With our looming closure upon us, our Junior class is the most impacted and we wanted to ensure they know, along with all our kids, they will always be ours and always be a griffin.
With some heartfelt words by Ms. Krista and loving send offs by our fearless leaders Mr. Heroff and Mrs. Anderson, we said our “see you laters” to some incredible kids today. We will miss you all so very much but we know you’re all going to do incredible things!

💛❤️💚 ECA 2024 Graduation 💚❤️💛
To the 2024 ECA graduates, congratulations! To say we are proud of you is an understatement. It was said several times tonight, ECA and all the staff love every single one of you.
You are the last and final graduating class from ECA and we couldn’t have asked for a better class to close our last year with.
The accomplishments you have made as students speaks volumes to who each of you are as a person and it will only take you further than you could imagine.
To the families and supporters who attended this evening, thank you for your love and support of these grads! Your pride and joy radiated in that room tonight!
Lastly, thank you for trusting us to guide these incredible students to their achievement of graduating tonight. We will be forever honored for being a part of their story and success.
