Ready to take the wheel?

We're teaming up with Lake Land College to offer a FREE CDL and Forklift Simulator Workshop for youth ages 10-18!

Participants will get a firsthand look at what it's like to drive a semi-truck and operate a forklift using state-of-the-art simulators. While waiting their turn, they can explore interactive STEM activities and challenges.

• When – September 12
• Time – 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
• Location – Lake Land College Workforce Development Center, Mattoon
• Who - ages 10-18 as of 9/1/26

We are incredibly proud of our Moultrie‑Douglas 4‑H members who showcased their skills, creativity, and knowledge at the 2026 Illinois State Fair this past Sunday and wanted to share the results from the show!
Competing alongside more than 1,000 outstanding 4‑H youth from across the state, our thirty one members who were promoted to compete truly went above and beyond.
Their hard work, dedication, and passion were on full display, and their accomplishments reflect the strength and spirit of our entire 4‑H community!

A great workshop for our 4-H club leaders is coming up!

Calling all club leaders!

Elevate your 4-H Club Meetings with an exciting opportunity to integrate fun and engaging food science experiments. Join our hands-on virtual workshop, where Linda Perucca from the Chicagoland Food Science Foundation will guide you through tasty activities that bring food science concepts to life.

Discover the art of product development with a potato chip seasoning lab, craft ice cream in a bag right from home, and enjoy demonstrations on creating bubble gum and rock candy. Plus, registered participants have the chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card to stock up on supplies for your club.

2026 State Fair 4-H General Projects Show pictures!

Moultrie-Douglas 4-H members competed at the Illinois State Fair on Sunday, August 16 to share their skills and knowledge across many project areas!

We are extremely proud of all the members who competed!

We will share results of award winners as soon as they are finalized and shared by the state 4-H office.

We would love to start a Cooking 101 SPIN (special interest) club this 4-H year for the youth of Moultrie-Douglas counties that are ages 8-18!

You will be supported, have funds for ingredients, and a curriculum to guide you!

Cooking skills are basic life skills that benefit all kids!

Sharing our Moultrie-Douglas fall shooting sports plans!

This is a great place for youth to learn life skills with shooting equipment in a supportive environment.
Shoots are scheduled for September 19 and October 17 at Lake-fork Sportsman's club in Atwood, 10am-Noon.
All kids 8+ are welcome to participate, but kids must be 10+ to do shotgun.

We provide all equipment, but you are also welcome to bring your own shooting equipment, eye and ear protection.

We realize for the September shoot date Zsuite.org will not be open for member enrollment yet, so I will have extra forms for kids to fill out on site that day to participate.
For our October shoot date, parents will need to make sure their child is enrolled at 4h.zsuite.org to participate.

Also, BIG shout out to Declan's Stollard for representing Mo-Do 4-H at the State Shotgun shoot on September 26! Declan had to be chosen by our shooting coaches to participate and we are so proud of him!

Congratulations and best wishes to our 11 Moultrie-Douglas livestock exhibitors show 13 head of swine and 16 head of cattle at the Illinois State Fair Junior Shows!

The Junior Gilt Show is Friday, August 14 and Barrow Show is Saturday, August 15.

The Junior Beef Show for heifers is Thursday, August 13, performance cows show Friday, August 14, and steers show Saturday, August 15.
