CNC - "Belt Exchange Ceremonies" are next week

Hey all, next week we will be back at the main Dojo location with our "Belt Exchange Ceremonies" - for those that have recently Tested (and are now due to receive their new Ranks)!! :)

Congratulations to ALL those students who have passed their most recent Tests, and are now being "Ranked Up"!! :)

Parents, please feel free to bring any additional family members, cameras, video-cams, etc ... to help capture and remember these moments in time.

I would also kindly request everyone to come a little bit early to class next week, as we will have at least (1) more Rank Test to be administered, at the start of class - before we can move on to awarding everyone their new Ranks!!

CNC & Adult's Class - Reminder, Park Training TONIGHT!! ;)

Just a quick reminder that we will be training over at Eberhardt Park in Arthur tonight .... It will be a "Combined Kid's Class" running from 6:30-7:15pm (a single 45 min. class).

It will be HOT ... so we will try to stay in the shaded areas as much as possible, but we will make use of several different areas of the park ... with various training activities.

Black Training Gi's .... ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR TONIGHT ... just any standard loose fitting clothes will suffice ... (ie, shorts and a t-shirt).

NOTE: It might also be a good idea to bring an extra change of clothes .... or at least a DRY TOWEL for the ride home. ;) ;)

CNC & Adult's Class - Upcoming Dojo "scheduling info" to remember!!

Kid's Classes - Our "General Rank Testing" will be on Monday, July 20th (that's just 2 classes away) .. Which means that if you are a brand new student within the Beginner's Class - and this will be your 1st time "Rank Testing", you will need to go ahead and get an order in for your Student Uniform. This is a REQUIREMENT at your 1st Rank Testing point!!

- The new uniform will come with a White Belt (signifying a brand new beginner) ... and this will give me the opportunity to award a Yellow Belt at the passing of their 1st Test, when we do that Belt Exchange Ceremony a couple weeks later. ;)

Kid's Classes and Adult's Class - The Church's Fellowship Hall will be unavailable on Monday, July 27th due to it's Vacation Bible School week .... so ALL CLASSES will be held at Arthur's Eberhardt Park on the 27th!! NOTE: This will be a "Combined Kid's Class" running from 6:30 - 7:15pm (that's a 45 min. Class), weather permitting. The Adult Class will still run from 7:30 - 9:30pm as usual on this night!!

* Our Kid's Class "Belt Exchange Ceremonies" will be planned for our returning to normal Dojo classes on Monday, Aug. 3rd.

CNC & Adult's Class - Tonight is our "1 on 1 Foam Sword Battle Night"

As many of you know, the Arthur Bujinkan Dojo has (4) Special Class Nights each year which focus on a specific "fun" area of our training ... Typically, (1) of these is selected per semester (or about every 3 months).

These special event nights include:
- Wooden Board Breaking
- 1 on 1 Foam Sword Battles
- Timed Obstacle Course
- "Blackout" Activities (a completely dark room with various glow-items)

Tonight happens to be one of these special nights, and it is planned to hold our "1 on 1 foam sword battles" in both Kid's Classes this evening.

As always within our training, it's not about what you can do to the other person ... but rather, how do YOU move, block, counter, and / or avoid being hit via the other opponent. REMEMBER, It's ALL about "Self-Defense" and how to protect YOURSELF!!

Herein lies the "fun" behind this event though ... because for you to train and learn these things, the opponent has to attack YOU .. and likewise, for him/her to learn anything you must attack THEM!! It is a battle to help EACH OTHER LEARN. ;)

Hey all,

I have been notified by the Church that the South Parking Lot Concrete will be under repair / construction next week, and it will not allow for any pass-through travel.

Thus, all class-traffic will need to be directed to the road North of the Church, that has direct access to the North Parking Lot (as indicated via the Blue Arrows drawn on the map). ;)

Please use this route next week to access our classes at the Church ... Thank you!!

CNC and Adult's Class - Upcoming SCHEDULE OF EVENTS!!

Hey all, here are some important items and dates to mark on the calendar as we progress through this Late Spring into Summer. ;)

Beginner's Kid's Class - "Stranger Danger / Stranger Avoidance" Training in a portion of each of the 1st (4) Classes in June

Advanced Kid's Class - Concepts and ideas of "Advanced Sword Usages / Control" in each of the 1st (4) Classes in June

For Both Kid's Classes:
- 1 on 1 "Foam Sword Battles" on Monday, June 29th
- July 6th & 13th - General "Rank Testing Requirement REVIEW"
nights
- July 20th - General "Rank Testing Night"
- July 27th - The church will have their Vacation Bible School this
week (so our normal training space will be unavailable) - our
"Alternate Training Location" for this night will be at Arthur
Eberhardt Park .. This will be a Combined Kid's Class (6:30-
7:15pm)
* This will also become a special "Dual Class Attendance Credit"
Night
- August 6th - General "Belt Exchange Ceremony" night
- August 31st - "Public Open House" ... This will also become the
Commemorative Night for the ABD's 16th Yr. Anniversary :)
- September 7th - The ABD will be Closed for Labor Day / Arthur
Cheese Festival

- Possible "Women's Self-Defense Seminar" sometime in
September??? (If there's enough interest with the ladies to put
this on)

CNC & Adult's Class

Just a little "heads up" concerning our classes on Monday, May 25th (Memorial Day).

Yes, we will have ALL REGULAR CLASSES on this night ...... but seeing that many families plan vacations / family outings on this day, any absences will not count against the students .... but, having said that, any student in attendance will earn (2) make-up "class attendance credits" to go toward their Annual Attendance Certificates.

If your child has any missed classes during this past year - it is a great opportunity to help wipe out (2) of those so that they can get a higher score (or even bump them up into the Perfect Attendance category) on their next Attendance Certificate handout. ;)

A special note here:

A pre-planned "1st Degree Jr. Black Belt Test" will also be given on this night (in the Advanced Kid's Class). All parents and students are welcome to stay and watch that Testing take place, as it will give you a good idea of where this training leads to within our Kid's Class Curriculum.

As it is a "1st Degree Jr. Black Belt" Testing, plans are to also have the Honor Wall set-up on this night - so at the successful passing of said Test, the student will be able to add their name to the wall with the various Jr. Black Belt students of the ABD that have come before them.

Out of 160+ students that have come through this school thus far, only (12) of those names currently reside below the "Jr. Black Belt" section ..... and (1) more is about to be added in just a couple weeks!! :)

THIS is why we call it .... THE HONOR WALL!!

Nick recently took his "Shodan Test" (our 1st Degree Black Belt Test) ... and he is now the newest addition to our Dojo's Adult Class / Black Belt Levels.

Job well done Nicholas san .... Congratulations man!!! ;)

CNC & Adult's Class - ALL Classes will be CANCELLED for tonight 2/23/26

Hey all, I seem to have a serious problem with my truck right now (brakes, wheel bearing, etc... don't know for sure yet) and I do not trust it enough to make it over to Arthur and back tonight .. let alone taking the "possibility" of getting stranded somewhere between here and there in sub 20 degree weather. :(

If you see this message between now and end of day here at work, then please leave a reply so that I know you have seen this message .... otherwise, I'll try to make contact via phone later for those who I have not heard from.
