Phew! It’s been a busy few days for our bands and Boosters! 🧡🖤

From our Annual Cakewalk to the District Marching Festival, it’s been a whirlwind of music, community, and some incredible people helping make it all happen!

🎂 Annual Cakewalk

What a great turnout at Art in the Park! We loved hearing all five of our Zia, AJH, and AHS bands perform while the community enjoyed the Cakewalk!

A big thank you to the Artesia Arts Council for hosting us and providing shade for our performers, the The Artesia Public Schools maintenance crew for giving our Cakewalk circle a fresh touchup, our band families for bringing the cakes, and the volunteers who kept everything running from start to finish!

🥁 District Marching Festival

Just a few days later, we welcomed bands from across southeastern New Mexico to Bulldog Bowl!

A huge thank you to La Fonda Restaurant for helping with food and storage, Fenn's Country Market for helping supply concessions, and the Artesia Downtown Lions Club - 40S for firing up the grills and cooking nearly 1,000 burgers! 🍔

We’re also grateful to the Artesia Police Department CSOs for helping everyone cross safely between venues and to our Booster volunteers and 8th-grade band students who jumped in wherever they were needed!

Two big events. A whole lot of helping hands. One incredible community. Thank you for continuing to show up for our students! 🧡🖤

Join us Friday at Bulldog Bowl as we recognize our AHS Band seniors during halftime!

🥁 And next weekend, the Pride heads to State Marching Festival! We’re planning a community sendoff, so keep an eye out for details coming soon! 🧡🖤

🥁 2026 DISTRICT MARCHING FESTIVAL! 🎶

Artesia is proud to welcome bands and color guards from across Southeast New Mexico on Tuesday, October 13th, for the 2026 District Marching Festival!

Join us as these talented students take the field and showcase the hard work, dedication, and countless hours they’ve put into their performances this season!

What a weekend for the Pride of the Pecos Valley! 🧡🖤

Friday took the band on the road for varsity football, and the Hi D Ho Drive In crew in Alamogordo helped keep things moving by having nearly 100 meals ready for our group as we came through. Handling an order that size and having it ready when a traveling band arrives is no small task, and we appreciate them taking care of our students!

After getting back to Artesia after midnight, the Pride was right back at it Saturday morning, stepping off at 10:00 for the March-a-Thon.

And Artesia showed up.

Over nearly four miles, neighbors stepped outside, waved, cheered and stopped to enjoy the music—some clearly not knowing what was coming down their street until the Pride arrived! The interaction and support along the route made the morning something special.

A big thank you to the Artesia Police Department for the planning and assistance that helped keep our students safe and traffic moving throughout the march.

Fenn's Country Market also generously provided all of the fruit and water for our students at both stops along the way. Thank you to Fenn’s and to the volunteers who spent their Friday evening cutting fruit, preparing water and making sure the Pride had a chance to refuel before continuing the march.

It was a quick turnaround and a busy weekend, but these students did an incredible job. And behind them was a community helping make it all possible. 🧡

Now it’s on to the next one.

Tuesday, the Pride heads to Portales for their first competition of the season at the Green & Silver Classic, with a performance scheduled for around 4:30 PM.

Wish the Pride luck as competition season gets underway—and if you’ll be in the Portales area, we’d love to have some orange and black there supporting them! 🧡🖤

The band has made it to stop #2-Zia. After a 10 minute break, they'll be headed down the final stretch! 13th street to the AHS Band Hall!!! These kids have been great!

Update:
The band will be stepping off from Hermosa elementary in just a few minutes!

🥁🚩 THIS WEEKEND — THE PRIDE HITS THE STREETS! 🚩🥁

This Saturday, October 3 from 10 AM–12 PM, the Pride of the Pecos Valley takes on its first-ever March-A-Thon!

Our students will march through Artesia bringing the fight song, Battle Flag, and Bulldog spirit into the community as we build momentum for competition season.

If you’re along the route:

👋 Give us a wave
🚗 Give us a honk
📣 And when you hear the fight song… MAKE SOME NOISE!

A special THANK YOU to Fenn’s Country Market for generously donating water and fruit for our students! Their donation will be available at both of our planned stops along the route and will help keep the Pride fueled and hydrated throughout the March-A-Thon. We greatly appreciate their support of our students!

A huge thank you to David Lasoya, owner of Good Vibes Tattoo, for sharing his talent with our band students!

David airbrushed these awesome shirts for our AHS Color Guard and also created the airbrushed banners used on the Zia Band float for the Homecoming Parade.

We’re grateful for community members who are willing to use their talents to support our students and help make these moments even more special.
