I Found this Article about the Portuguese program at Elliott in a book cleaning out the garage. I loved this program the teachers were the best. My first four years of school in the US were very difficult at Burbank the first year I didn’t speak any English and a lot of the kids and teachers were very cruel to me. When We finally moved in the middle of fourth grade and we went to Elliott it was as if life started over. The teachers were very kind my favorite Teacher was Mr Fields he really instilled a love of History and traveling and Mrs Lourenco she always helped us figure out the difficult things she helped all the Portuguese families with paperwork vaccines for school and anything she could help with. I felt included we all knew each other we had a wonderful education. I wish that the program still existed.
