Visiting the CAT centers is ALWAYS a treat for me. Today, I was honored to visit CAT-S. I am always 🤯 witnessing the magic that occurs at these centers - welding, plumbing, cosmetology, graphic design, culinary, and so much more. ❤️

Two more fantastic back to school visits today - Broadneck ES and Broadneck HS! So many smilling faces, art I can't get enough of, and a brief visit with one of my favorite educators!

Back to school visits are the BEST!! Today, I visited Severna Park Middle School and Severna Park High School. Catching up with teachers and staff I adore and visiting classes was amazing. Thank you to Principals Kelly and Johnson for hosting us. Massive shout-outs to all the teachers, especially Ms. Cheatham, Ms. Fenn, and Ms. Vidal - three incredible educators my kid had in middle school, one of which has since moved to the high and is my kiddo's teacher again!!
Have a magnificent 26-27 school year!!

What a beautiful but BUSY day!
Today, we celebrated ribbon cuttings at massive Carver Early Education Center and Marley Glen at Severn Run! Congratulations on your grand openings!

Once the combination of four, one-room segregated schools, both former and new students participated in today's opening celebration at Carver. The reimagined Carver Early Education Center will be pivotal in the lives of students for generations to come.

Marley Glen at Severn Run, our first school within a school, will educate students receiving special education services in brand-new facilities at Severn Run High School. Students from both schools will learn from one another, enriching lives and enhancing education for all.

I can't wait to see both schools in action later this year.

Last, but certainly not least, Stuff the Bus is among my favorite events each fall. This year, AACPS received nearly 4,000 lbs of school supplies from NSA and Cyber Command!! Thank you for your support of our students!
