🎉 People’s Choice Award Winners! 🎉

Congratulations to Noah Stopnik and Shannon Moloney and their project, 914 Health Nav, for earning the Changemaker Project People’s Choice Award!

Recognizing that many families struggle to navigate the healthcare system, Noah and Shannon created a free online resource that connects community members with affordable healthcare providers, food pantries, wellness resources, and advocacy opportunities. They will receive $500 to continue growing their project’s impact across Westchester County.

We are incredibly proud of all 14 Changemaker teams who presented their work this year. From promoting mental health awareness and expanding access to solar energy in Uganda to combating the effects of fast fashion and addressing healthcare inequities, students tackled complex challenges with creativity and empathy. Congratulations to every team for making a positive impact in our community and beyond! 🌎✨

We are so proud of Taylor who represented Global Scholars and Byram Hills as part of the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center’s Living History Project. Taylor interviewed Barbara Lewis Kaplan about her father’s incredible story of survival during the Holocaust. Tonight Taylor shared his story and the artwork she created inspired by that story.

Today, our students had the opportunity to hear from Holocaust survivor and speaker Dr. Dina Lichtman Smith.
Dr. Lichtman Smith was born in a displaced persons camp after WWII and carries forward her parents’ story of survival, resilience, and hope after enduring the Holocaust.
This was more than a history lesson; it was an opportunity for students to learn firsthand why memory, empathy, and action matter in building a more just world.
Thank you to Lisa Squadron for making this meaningful experience possible for our students.

Today, our Year 2 Global Scholars students represented Byram Hills at the PNW BOCES Regional Civic Forum, joining peers from across the region to explore real-world solutions to pressing issues.
After an inspiring keynote from State Senator Shelly Mayer, students dove into civic-focused workshops and then took the stage at the Civics Fair to showcase their own innovative projects.

• Joey & Lili – Breaking the Cycle
An app designed to help victims of domestic violence quickly and safely access support.
• Noah & Shannon – 914 Navigator
An online healthcare resource connecting under-resourced communities with affordable care options.
• Eli & Ben – Forever Fashion
An app that analyzes the environmental impact of clothing from a photo and suggests more sustainable choices.
Proud of these students for turning empathy into action and ideas into impact. The future of civic leadership is in good hands!
