We’re excited to celebrate Year 2 students Isabella, Basha, and Magnolia, who are participating in the 2026-2027 Ethel Skakel Kennedy Young Women’s Leadership Summit, with Dr. Shaw as their advisor!
Hosted by the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center and Manhattanville University, this year long experience empowers young women to connect their passions to human rights and the UN Sustainable Development Goals and develop projects that create positive change.
We can’t wait to see the impact they make!

🌎💙 Global Scholars in Action!

We are incredibly grateful to the Mount Kisco Child Care Center for recognizing the Byram Hills Global Scholars Program at its annual Feed Me Fresh fundraiser and for creating this special video celebrating our students’ work.

Our partnership with MKCCC gives Global Scholars the opportunity to put changemaking into action right here in our community which was led by Sophia, Charlotte, Jadyn and their Year 3 classmates. Through their efforts to educate, advocate, raise funds for scholarships and support the Center’s annual holiday drive, our students have learned that meaningful change begins with understanding the needs of others—and then taking action to help.

We are so proud of the Global Scholars who have contributed their creativity, leadership, and commitment to this partnership over the years, and so thankful to MKCCC for giving our students the opportunity to make a real and measurable difference. ❤️

We are incredibly proud to celebrate four Global Scholars whose creativity, courage, and commitment to being upstanders earned recognition in the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center’s Ben Ferencz Writing and Creative Expression Student Competition!
🏆 Jane Goode — First Place for her pencil drawing, A Path Lit
🥈 Spencer Feldman — Second Place for his poem, 6,000
🥉 Kaleigh Hermanto — Third Place for her 3D collage, Through the Lens of Truth
⭐ Olivia Savitsky — Honorable Mention for Hidden Freedom
The students created these powerful works in Global Scholars Year 1 after studying genocide and learning about individuals who demonstrated the courage to stand up for others. Inspired by Nuremberg prosecutor Ben Ferencz’s reminder that “it takes courage not to be discouraged,” each student used art or writing to honor an upstander and share an important story with others.
Their work reflects a deep understanding of the consequences of genocide—and the difference individuals can make when they choose courage, truth, and action.
Congratulations, Jane, Spencer, Kaleigh, and Olivia! We are so proud of the meaningful ways you are using your voices and talents to make a difference. 💙

🎉 People’s Choice Award Winners! 🎉

Congratulations to Noah Stopnik and Shannon Moloney and their project, 914 Health Nav, for earning the Changemaker Project People’s Choice Award!

Recognizing that many families struggle to navigate the healthcare system, Noah and Shannon created a free online resource that connects community members with affordable healthcare providers, food pantries, wellness resources, and advocacy opportunities. They will receive $500 to continue growing their project’s impact across Westchester County.

We are incredibly proud of all 14 Changemaker teams who presented their work this year. From promoting mental health awareness and expanding access to solar energy in Uganda to combating the effects of fast fashion and addressing healthcare inequities, students tackled complex challenges with creativity and empathy. Congratulations to every team for making a positive impact in our community and beyond! 🌎✨

We are so proud of Taylor who represented Global Scholars and Byram Hills as part of the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center’s Living History Project. Taylor interviewed Barbara Lewis Kaplan about her father’s incredible story of survival during the Holocaust. Tonight Taylor shared his story and the artwork she created inspired by that story.
