Today, we took to the city park to celebrate 6 kiddos who are ending their daycare journeys and venturing off to kindergarten this year. They are all going to do AMAZING in kindergarten!

It was a fun day for all of us!

We are a licensed group daycare in Arma, where we have held our license for 13 years! We have programs available for all ages. We offer transportation to and from Arma schools, are first aid/CPR certified, DCF approved, and are a member of Provider’s Premier Choice-a USDA funded food and nutrition program. Windy but nice outside today! We enjoyed snack outside, practiced our hula hoop skills, and then Layla and Jasper wanted to sit and do some nature drawing on their clipboards.

Another beginning math activity practicing one-to-one correspondence!

All of the kids have enjoyed learning the song, 5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate during Music/Movement Time! We have been working on this since the beginning of October. Last week, during Work Time, the kids used do-a-dot markers to demonstrate their understanding of one-to-one correspondence on these super cute theme pages. Friday, we used the same sheets in a different way. Each kiddo was given 5 mellow cream pumpkins to place on their gate, and then we practiced counting the 5 pumpkins, one by one, using our pointer finger to touch each pumpkin one time as we counted.

This early math activity is a great way to promote beginning counting skills in older toddlers and younger preschoolers.
