Michael Dwain Pearce 53, of Scammon Kansas passed away August 10, 2025 at his home. Mike is survived by his loving wife Amy (Wilson) of the home, Parents Ron and Dora Ware, Children, Shelbie, Jacob, Makayla, Hunter, Wendee, Avery and Jordyn along with his 5 grandchildren. Mike had 5 siblings, Andrea, Brian, Michelle, Lisa and Bryan and several nieces and nephews he was always happy to visit with.
Mike grew up in Southeast Kansas where he enjoyed fishing, playing with Grandchildren and loved the Kansas City Chiefs.
Mike may have had some struggles but lived life to the fullest. Mike would do anything for his friends and neighbors. He was proud to call Scammon Kansas his home. Mike made everyone who knew him laugh, cry, and listen to all his stories.
Our family is grateful to know that Mike is finally at peace. Mikes wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life for Mike will be on August 23, from 11am-1pm at the home of Ron and Dora in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Our classmate Lisa Pitts Martin passed away this morning. Her brother, Jerry Pitts, posted the following today. Please pray for Lisa's husband Bobby and her brother Jerry and his family.

"In life, nothing matters more than family. It’s weird, as life happens the definition of family changes. When you say family now, I think of my wife and kids first, but in other context, when you say family, I think of ‘my’ family as a puzzle of 4 pieces, mom, dad, Lisa, and myself. The core family that I’ve always known. We did everything together, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

For those that know, my sister is an extremely private person, especially when it comes to her health. It’s for this reason that I have not shared that we have been in a battle of our lives over the past month. On April 5 Lisa had a heart attack which led to her wrecking her car. The fight was long and intense, but as of this morning, Lisa lost this fight.

I’ll never be able to thank everyone enough for all the love, prayers, and support over this past month. Although she was bull headed and had to be in control of everything, she also had a heart of gold. She loved fiercely and loved helping people out. She was an amazing teacher, friend, wife, daughter, aunt, and sister. She will be greatly missed.

Please keep Bobby in your thoughts and prayers. This man has been a true angel to my sister and I could never have hand picked a better soul mater and partner for her.

For now, I will remain a single piece to a puzzle, waiting to be put back together to become whole again."
