# 🐾 Welcome to the First Edition of Wildcat News!

**Bolton Families,**

What an incredible first week of school! I want to take a moment to thank each of you for trusting us with your students and for helping us begin the school year on such a positive note.

It has been wonderful to see our Wildcats back in the building—learning, building relationships, reconnecting with friends, and settling into a new school year. Our faculty and staff have worked incredibly hard to prepare for our students, and I am grateful for the energy, care, and commitment they have shown throughout this first week.

As we continue **“The Marathon,”** our goal is to work together to ensure every Wildcat has the support, encouragement, and opportunities needed to reach the finish line successfully.

📣 **Please take a few minutes to read our first edition of *Wildcat News*!** Each edition will provide families with important announcements, upcoming events, celebrations, reminders, and information you need to stay connected to what is happening at Bolton Agri-STEM High School.

Your partnership matters. When our school and families work together, our students are stronger and more successful.

Thank you again for an amazing first week. We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to continuing this journey together!

Welcome Letter from the Principal

Dear Bolton Agri-STEM High School Families, Students, Alumni, and Community Members, it is with great honor, humility, and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Bolton Agri-STEM High School. For the past four years, I have had the privilege of serving as Bolton's Vice Principal, and together we have achieved remarkable success. During that time, our school improved its state letter grade from an F to a B, increased student growth to Level 5, raised graduation rates, and strengthened a positive school culture where students are supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed. These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our students, staff, families, and community, and I am proud of what we have achieved together.
As I step into this new role, I do so with 23 years of experience in education and an unwavering commitment to student excellence. Throughout my career, I have served as a high school science teacher, functional skills teacher, instructional resource teacher, assistant principal, and vice principal. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Extension and Education, a Master of Science in Agricultural Information and Technology, and an Educational Specialist degree all from Mississippi State University. I also completed additional studies in School Leadership and Administration at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Bolton Agri-STEM High School has a proud tradition of excellence, and I am committed to building upon the strong foundation already established. Together, we will continue to expand exceptional learning opportunities, strengthen our innovative Agri-STEM programs, and cultivate an environment where every student is prepared for success in college, career, and life.
Our focus will remain on high expectations, meaningful relationships, academic achievement, and opportunities that prepare students to thrive in an ever-changing world.
I firmly believe that strong schools are built through strong relationships. Listening to and learning from our families and community members is essential as we continue our journey forward.
To that end, I invite you to attend my upcoming Community Open Hours, where parents, students, alumni, and community members are welcome to stop by, introduce themselves, share ideas, ask questions, or simply say hello.
Community Open Hours📅
Thursday, July 16 | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Friday, July 17 | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
I look forward to meeting you, hearing your perspectives, and working alongside you as we continue to demonstrate that .
Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and belief in our students.
I am excited about the future of Bolton Agri-STEM High School and cannot wait to welcome everyone back for what promises to be an outstanding school year.

With Wildcat Pride,
Genita Bell
