Students watched three real AI tools come to life — a curriculum generator, a calendar, and a 3D solar system — all built live during class. 📱

We covered local vs. global web concepts so students understand why some links only work for them. Security basics: adding logins to anything holding real data. Plus spotting demo data vs. live data inside a working weather app.

These aren't abstract lessons. Students are learning the difference between what they type into a chat box and what real developers build.

This week, our young builders created impressive projects! 🐝

They developed a weather app with live radar, designed their own app interface, and made an animated beehive story using AI video tools. Students also learned to debug their code and use AI to solve login problems — building critical thinking skills along the way.

These kids aren't just learning about AI — they're building meaningful things with it. ✨

🚀 Big couple of weeks for our students at DataGuy AI Academy — two real projects in the works:

🌦️ A live weather app — local radar, storm tracking, and an early-warning alert system. Students learned how the National Weather Service issues watches vs. warnings, explored Skywarn storm-spotter training, and used AI to test their ideas before building.

🚕 Legacy Taxi — a real booking app for a local ride service: scan a QR code, tap your pickup spot on the map, and you're booked. Students are helping design and test it end to end.

Our students don't just watch — they use AI to brainstorm, test, and build real things.

What a fantastic night! The kids built 3D worlds, composed their own music, and created videos. Enrolling in our summer camp is giving them a real head start, and Mike Frame and Richard Romine can't wait to see where they take it next. Will they build their own websites? Write a storyline and develop a full video game? Produce an entire album of original music? The possibilities are wide open.
Our next open house is this Thursday, April 23rd. Every student who attends is entered into a raffle to win their own PC.
And if AI makes you nervous, here's my take as a cybersecurity professional with 15+ years in the field: every colleague I work with is either using AI or will be soon. I've never leaned on creative and critical thinking more than I do now. AI prevents burnout and closes knowledge gaps — it doesn't replace the thinking, it amplifies it.
