🤖 What happens when someone knows AI helped write the message they’re reading?
UTA Communication faculty Dr. Monica Zhan and Dr. Roger Gans have received a competitive national research grant to study how people react to AI-assisted communication in the workplace.
Their project was one of only 10 selected nationally for the Waterhouse Family Institute’s 2026–27 funding cycle, with an acceptance rate of just 9%.
As AI becomes a bigger part of everyday work, their research will explore what its use could mean for communication, credibility and the people receiving those messages.

From performing at Globe Life Field and Arlington’s Levitt Pavilion to collaborating with acclaimed artists such as Vincent Herring and Chucho Valdés, Parker found opportunities at UTA to grow not only as a performer, but as an artist committed to bringing people together through music. 🎶

Since this interview was recorded, Parker has reached another major milestone: becoming the official trumpet player and male vocalist for the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.

📚 For the entire interview, make sure to check it out on the UTA College of Liberal Arts website or on our YouTube channel!

Last semester, UTA Art and Art History faculty, students, and an alumnus participated in the annual Hot Iron Pour Workshop, collaborating with artists from across the country while learning large-scale iron casting techniques.
It's another example of the hands-on experiences that prepare our students for creative careers.
