Perhaps one of the most beautiful things about attending the various Hawaiian functions around the DC region is connecting and reconnecting with ʻohana. So happy to have seen Alika again after so many years!!! Before he and his ‘ohana moved back to Hawaiʻi, his daughter was in our keiki class (she’s now 21!), and we were so blessed to have Alika as our alaka’i for ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi. 🌺

How wonderfully heartwarming to see and hear The Aloha Boys together again in full force! 🌺🎶
Uncle Ramon Camarillo, Uncle Irv Queja, Uncle Glen Hirabayashi and Uncle Isaac Hoʻopiʻi started playing music together at Hālau O ʻAulani in 1996 for their daughters who were amongst Hālau’s first haumana. From there, they formed The Aloha Boys and have since performed across the U.S. at various events from backyard parties to concerts and prestigious functions. Life has since moved Uncle Ramon and Uncle Glen away from the DC region, so it was incredibly special to have them all together again at the King Kamehameha Lei Draping Ceremony this past Sunday. 🤙🏽

Mahalo nui to the Arlington Westover Library for inviting us to participate in their AAPI event this past weekend! We’ve had a fun-filled month of sharing aloha at various events throughout the DMV.
Alli Girl will be dancing in her 2nd ho’olaule’a with us this year! We love that, for two years now, she’s been dancing hula with her parents and grandmother while her grandfather plays music!
Come see us at Ho’olaule’a on Saturday, June 20!
