Porter Tutoring is a family owned company that has been in business for over 25 years. Although we have not always been at our current location, we have been helping students succeed since Marca Porter took it upon herself to offer exceptional tutoring services at an affordable price. We offer tutorial services for students in elementary school through lower level college courses. From reading and

Big reading wins for Penelope and Persephone! 📚✨

Penelope, who is heading from 1st grade into 2nd grade, made an amazing 125-point jump on her mCLASS score from the beginning of the year to the end of the year!

Persephone, who is heading from Kindergarten into 1st grade, stayed in the blue range on her mCLASS throughout the entire school year and finished in the top 5% of her class!

With consistent support and targeting reading practice at Porter Tutoring, both girls continued building their confidence and skills as readers. Their hard work truly showed, and both scored above the benchmark set by their assistant principal! 💙

We are so excited to celebrate their growth and all they have accomplished this year!

Color, creativity, and a little chemistry! 🌈✨

Porter Tutoring celebrated the end of the 2025–2026 school year with a tie-dye party, where students and tutors got to create their own colorful designs and try out different tie-dye techniques.

We also learned about the chemistry behind tie-dye — how dyes bond to fabric fibers to help create bright, lasting colors. What a fun way to wrap up a great school year! 🎨🧪

From Lamar High School to Tarleton State University! 🎓

Celebrating Doug and Kate as they graduate from Lamar High School with their associate degrees from TCC — an amazing accomplishment before starting their next chapter.

It’s bittersweet to see them go, but we know they’re heading toward bigger and better things at Tarleton. Kate will be studying nursing, and Doug will be studying business. On to the next chapter! 💜🤍

Celebrating Sophia and Robo Vikes Team 4206 after an incredible robotics season! 🤖💙

Sophia, one of our Porter Tutoring students, served as the lead driver for Robo Vikes Team 4206! She played a crucial part in the design and fabrication of their robot. During competitions, she lead the team in strategizing.

This season, Robo Vikes participated in 5 competitions, made it to the finals at the district competition in Amarillo, went undefeated during qualification matches at State in Houston, and finished 11th out of 181 teams across Texas and New Mexico.

At the 2026 FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, the team won their division, advanced to final bracket play, and their alliance placed 2nd in the world among teams from approximately 35 countries. 🌎🏆

Huge congratulations to Gia! ⚾️🎉

We are so proud to celebrate Gia for receiving the Richard Greene Scholarship, an incredible program designed to develop future leaders through community service.

Gia just finished her junior year of high school and was selected for this amazing opportunity, which includes a $10,000 college scholarship and a senior-year internship experience with local community and leadership organizations.

The Richard Greene Scholarship Program is sponsored and funded by The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

☀️ Take advantage of the Porter Tutoring Summer Special—pay for 3 hours and get 4.5 hours of tutoring, available from May 26th through Labor Day (September 7th).

For summer hours, Porter Tutoring will be open Tuesday through Thursday only starting Memorial Day (5/25). We’ll return to our regular Monday–Friday schedule the week of August 10th, which is the first week of school for the 2026–2027 AISD school year. We offer both in-person and online sessions—contact us anytime with questions at 817-274-7172.
