Dear Community Partners,

Arlington Memorial High School’s 18th Annual John Werner Soccer Tournament will take place the week of September 14 at the Arlington Rec Park. Proceeds from the event benefit the John Werner Scholarship, which is awarded to two AMHS graduates each year.

As part of our fundraising efforts, we include advertisements from local businesses and individuals in the tournament program. Ads may be business or personal.

Today at Fisher, students participated in an important conversation about creating a safe, respectful, and supportive school community.

Jess Bouchard, SVSU’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Administrator & Title IX Coordinator, met with students in grades K–5 to talk about Hazing, Harassment, and Bullying (HHB) and Title IX in an age-appropriate way.

One of the most important things we can do is talk openly with students about expectations, boundaries, how we treat one another, and what to do when something doesn’t feel right.

Today’s conversations helped students better understand how to speak up, where to turn for help, and the role we all play in making Fisher a place where everyone feels safe and supported.

For the past three days, our teachers and staff have been together preparing classrooms, making plans, sharing ideas, and getting ready for the people at the heart of everything we do: our students.
