Our talented Lamar High School Culinary students had the opportunity to join FOX 4 and share more about Arlington ISD’s By Students, 4 Students program and the work that goes into bringing student-created recipes to our cafeterias!

And now it’s time to TASTE their work! 👏

🍳 Tomorrow morning, head to your campus cafeteria for breakfast and try the NEW Lamar High School Sunrise Sausage Bowl!

Created by Lamar Culinary students, this breakfast bowl is officially making its way from the culinary classroom to cafeterias across Arlington ISD. 💙

August has been BUSY in Arlington ISD Food & Nutrition Services, and we couldn’t be more excited about the way we kicked off the year!

One of our biggest highlights? We debuted THREE By Students 4 Students recipes on our menus! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

🥐 Toasted Sausage & Egg Croissant — Bowie HS Culinary

That’s THREE student-inspired recipes in ONE month! 🙌 Each one represents months of creativity, collaboration, taste testing and hard work — and seeing these ideas go from the culinary classroom to cafeterias across Arlington ISD is what By Students 4 Students is all about. ❤️

And our teams have been working just as hard behind the scenes, serving hundreds of thousands of meals while creating welcoming cafeterias where students can fuel up and be ready to learn.

¡Eso significa TRES recetas inspiradas por estudiantes en UN SOLO MES! 🙌 Cada una representa meses de creatividad, colaboración, pruebas de sabor y mucho trabajo. Nuestros equipos también han estado trabajando arduamente detrás de escena, sirviendo cientos de miles de comidas y creando cafeterías acogedoras donde nuestros estudiantes pueden alimentarse bien y estar listos para aprender.

🌅🎓 Senior Sunrise + Breakfast = The Perfect Start to Senior Year! 🎓🌅

The Sam Houston Class of 2027 kicked off their final year of high school with Senior Sunrise, and Food & Nutrition Services was there to help make the morning extra special! ❤️💙

Our seniors showed up in style with painted jeans, homemade Class of 2027 shirts, and plenty of school spirit — and we showed up with BREAKFAST! 🙌🍳

Our By Students 4 Students program gives Arlington ISD Culinary Arts students the opportunity to dream up new recipes, develop their culinary skills, and create meals with one very important audience in mind — their fellow students! 🍽️

From the culinary classroom ➡️ to student taste tests ➡️ to cafeterias across Arlington ISD, these recipes have the opportunity to become part of our school menus!

And the best part? When you see By Students 4 Students on the menu, you know there’s a student story behind that meal. ❤️

We are incredibly proud to give our students a voice in what we serve and a chance to see their ideas come to life — one tray at a time. 🌟

🍎 A quick back-to-school reminder for Arlington ISD families! 📝

Help us make sure every student has access to the meals they need to learn, grow, and succeed this school year! 💙

Depending on your student’s campus, there are two important forms families may need to complete:

🥪 Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application
If your student attends a campus that is not part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), your family may qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. We encourage you to complete an application — even if you’re not sure whether you qualify!

🏫 Household Income Form
Does your student attend a CEP campus where meals are already provided at no cost? We still need your help! Completing the Household Income Form helps Arlington ISD maintain important funding and resources that support our students and schools.

✨ Not sure which form you need? Visit the Arlington ISD Food & Nutrition Services website to learn more and get started.

Chef Juan of Taqueria Saltillo joined Univision to share the story behind our By Students, 4 Students program and celebrate his brand-new Al Pastor Pork Nachos hitting Arlington ISD cafeteria menus! 🙌

As a Sam Houston High School alumnus, Chef Juan’s partnership makes this recipe even more special. He’s bringing his experience, creativity, and local flavor back to the district where his own journey began — and helping us create something exciting for the next generation of Arlington ISD students. 💙

We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the school year: celebrating our students, our community, and great food!
