The Office of International Education was deeply saddened to hear about the devastation and loss in Nepal due to the earthquake on Saturday. Our thoughts are with the Nepalese Community during this extremely difficult time. We wanted to reach out to all of our F-1 students from Nepal to offer our support and services. These extended resources will be available starting Tuesday, April 28th:
We will provide access to a phone in a private space for those wanting to reach family members. Calls to the Nepal region will be free of charge. Please come to Office of International Education Reception Area, Room 113 and we will assist you with this service.
We will have an advisor available on Tuesday 04/28/15 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., as well as on Wednesday 04/29/15 at 2 p.m. for group meetings to answer any questions you may have related to your immigration status, travel and visa renewal, funding and leave of absence.
We will prioritize travel requests and will have those processed within the same day they are submitted for those students who have immediate travel plans.
• Licensed counselors are on-hand to assist our students experiencing anxiety associated with the disaster. CAPS is offering a MAVS Talk Grief Workshop this Thursday 4/30/2015 at 3:30 PM which will be held in Preston Hall in room 104.
