We have officially completed TWO weeks of school YAYYY!

Let’s take a moment to look back at all the fun we’ve already had! From Open House, to the excitement of the first day of school, to all the learning, laughter, creativity, and everyday classroom fun in between it’s been a great start to the school year!

We’re so excited for all the memories, growth, and fun still to come!

This week, we got to celebrate something really special 12 YEARS of Lionheart LABC! 🎉🦁❤️

This is where it all started! WOW look at God! What began 12 years ago has now grown into over 20 academies, impacting children, families, churches, and communities in ways I’m sure no one could have fully imagined at the beginning.

One man’s vision. One faithful church willing to partner. One “yes” to what God was calling them to build. Through 12 years of obedience, sacrifice, prayer, perseverance, and faith, we now get to see the fruit of that yes. It’s such a beautiful reminder that when God gives a vision, we may not always see how far it will reach we just have to be faithful with what He places in our hands. 🌱

Twelve years represents so much more than a number. It represents countless children who have been loved and cared for, families who have been served, teachers and leaders who have been poured into, and most importantly, seeds of the Gospel that have been planted in the hearts of children.

We celebrated with cake, goodie bags for our kiddos, photos, and lots of smiles! 🎂🎁📸 Such a sweet way to celebrate this milestone and all God has done.

Happy 12 Years, Lionheart LABC! 🎉🦁 The start of it all! Let’s continue to steward the vision, serve families, love children, share Jesus, and watch God do even more than we could imagine. ❤️🙌🏽

✨ Leadership is not about a title—it is about faithfully answering God's call to serve. ✨

At Lionheart Children's Academy at The Lake Church, one of our greatest joys is watching God raise up leaders from within our own Lionheart family. We believe leadership is cultivated through faithfulness, humility, and a heart to serve others well.

This week, we want to officially celebrate two incredible women who have been faithfully serving in leadership over the past few months.

💙 Ms. Logann, our Assistant Academy Director

💙 Mrs. Krystal, our Academy Ministry Leader

Both of these women stepped forward when God called, embraced new challenges with courage, and continue to serve our children, families, and staff with excellence each day. Their leadership has already made a lasting impact, and I couldn't be more grateful to walk alongside them as we continue serving the families of Lionheart at The Lake Church.

Our Scripture focus this month has been a beautiful reminder of what true leadership looks like.

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." — Matthew 6:33

"For the kingdom of God is... righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." — Romans 14:17

When we seek God's Kingdom first, He faithfully equips us with everything we need to fulfill the purpose He has placed before us. That's exactly what I see in these two leaders. They don't lead for recognition—they lead to serve. And in doing so, they help cultivate an academy where Christ's love is seen, children are nurtured, families are strengthened, and our team is encouraged.

It is an honor to serve alongside them, and I thank the Lord for entrusting them to this ministry.

If you see Ms. Logann or Mrs. Krystal around the academy, take a moment to encourage them. Leadership is a privilege, but it's also a calling—and we're incredibly blessed by both of them.

Here's to building leaders, strengthening families, and continuing to seek His Kingdom first in all we do!

Due to anticipated winter weather, Lionheart at Lake Church will be CLOSED on Monday, January 26, 2026, to prioritize the safety of our students, families, and staff.

Did you know that Monday marks 11 years of Lionheart at Lake Church?! We couldn’t let the moment pass without celebrating the woman faithfully leading our flagship academy, Mrs. Lauren Thornton!

Lauren has been our Academy Director for a while now, and if your family has been here any length of time, you already know what a gift she is. With 15 years in Early Childhood Education, a heart for ministry, and three amazing boys of her own, Lauren leads with purpose, kindness and a deep love for every child who walks through our doors.

She is passionate about creating a Christ-centered environment where children can thrive, families feel supported, and staff are empowered to grow, all while having a whole lot of fun.
