Did you know that Monday marks 11 years of Lionheart at Lake Church?! We couldn’t let the moment pass without celebrating the woman faithfully leading our flagship academy, Mrs. Lauren Thornton!

Lauren has been our Academy Director for a while now, and if your family has been here any length of time, you already know what a gift she is. With 15 years in Early Childhood Education, a heart for ministry, and three amazing boys of her own, Lauren leads with purpose, kindness and a deep love for every child who walks through our doors.

She is passionate about creating a Christ-centered environment where children can thrive, families feel supported, and staff are empowered to grow, all while having a whole lot of fun.

We were recently recognized by the Texas Rising Star program. Numerous research studies have shown that children who attend higher-quality early learning programs are more prepared for school entry than children who do not attend high-quality programs.

The Texas Rising Star ratings are based on Director and Staff qualifications and training, teacher-child interactions, program administration, and indoor and outdoor environments. This recognition just goes to show what we’ve always known – Lionheart is one of the best!

The Safeguards 4 Kids tour is designed to empower parents with the tools and resources they need to protect children from abuse and other dangers. We’re participating because this mission matters to us, and we know it matters to you too. Join us to gain valuable insights on how to safeguard our children.

Since we know not everyone can make it to DBU over the weekend, our very own Academy Leaders from our Bent Tree Bible Fellowship location in Carrollton will be hosting the livestream of this event on Saturday, September 21, from 9 AM to noon.
