LONG POST...
So, I am just going to type off the top of my head and give a little information about being an entreprenuar. Mind you I am also sharing my heart, so hopefully I can still spell correctly with watery eyes.
When I was in 5th grade I had a dream to start a school of my own. Some of my school teachers were great during my academic tenure, but unfortunately not all educators are created equal. đ My mom Jan Davis was my biggest cheerleader. She watched me stand up , fall, and stand up again all the way until her health declined. In 2018, I started my tutoring company Academia Tutoring while still working full time as a classroom teacher. Since then, I have had ups and downs , especially during the pandemic. I wanted to give up and just walk away. The fact that my biggest cheerleader and my other biggest cheerleader my baby sister Michele Davis-Garrett went to be with the Lord in 2020, it made it even harder. Not to mention, I was still working full time and running the business. Eventually, it all collided and I had to leave the classroom in 2021.
I had really been down. Yall just don't understand the struggle my mind, my heart, my spirit, and my soul had DAILY!! I had just a mustard seed size faith holding me together for real! I am grateful to all my friends (too many to list), all my family, and my Alpha Omicron Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc for supporting me.
Now that my mind is more on track than it has been in 4 years , I am even more grateful because I have no idea how my business survived with me working at a 25% mind capacity. (TRUST ME I KNOW IT WAS ALL GOD!!) I injured my back last year in 2023 and and once again I fell into deep depression because I lost hope again. There were days I could not walk! God once again showed up for me and kept me going. Somedays I had to cancel my business classes because I was in so much pain or couldn't stay awake because of the meds. Again, God kept me.

I started with 1 student and his family, who put everything into trusting me with their child's education. Now we are on year number three this coming Fall 2024. I am overjoyed to offer this homeschool service to others and hire more teachers along the way. I have learned alot, grown alot, and looking forward to what God has next. This journey has not been easy. Sometimes it even took me way down to almost starting over, but God said make your request known, He said he wants us to prosper, He said that HE would never leave me nor forsake me, and here I am with much more than mustard see faith!
