Had another enjoyable day at the Wisconsin State 4H livestock judging contest! Furnished a class of Hamp Rams with NSIP performance data and helped officiate Market Lambs and breeding does. Really impressed with the yearly improvement in Oral Reasons. Good job Wisconsin coaches!!

Will be discussing our AI, ET and IVF programing next week in Spencer!

Todd Taylor, University of Wisconsin, and Dr. Andrew Weaver, North Carolina State University, will offer an informative session, Reproductive Technologies for Genetic Improvement, as part of the free NSIP educational program on July 24 at the Clay County Fairgrounds 4-H Center in Spencer, Iowa. This session will explore the opportunity for reproductive technologies to accelerate genetic progress. Tools such as artificial insemination and embryo transfer can increase selection pressure and decrease generation interval, moving flocks closer to their goals.

This yearling ewe will sell tomorrow in the National Targhee Sale in Huron! Thanks fellow UW Cowboy, Trevor Halverson for helping me get her to the 4th hole in a good class of yearling ewes!!

On the road again!! We are down to just about 2 handfuls of Targhee ewes left at the farm, but you don't need many when you have one kick out 4 at a time with this quality! Look for these Quad Sisters in the yearling ewe class at this weekends 75th National Targhee Show and Sale in Huron SD!! Help celebrate 100 years of the Targhee breed!

Ram sale season could not have started off much better! Thanks to Shady Lane Polypays SD/MN, and Rob McCraken IA (both repeat customers) for buying our Polypay entries on yesterdays NSIP online sale! First time buyer Diane McKee selected both Hamp Rams. Earlier in the day Thomas Stahl SD (also repeat customer) called and bought 8 Polypay ram lambs private treaty off the farm!! And Dr. Chris Schuer will be here bright and early in the morning to pick up 14 more mature rams to take back to Hetinger ND!! Now to get ready for next weeks 75th National Targhee Show and Sale in Huron SD and later in the month we will be taking a great set of rams and ewes the the Center of the Nation NSIP sale in Spencer IA!
