Welcoming REACH's long time volunteer, former board member, Cynthia Margeson to Uganda. Cynthia has travelled to Uganda more than 10 times. She is now in Uganda on her 11th trip. She has met some of the students she taught who are now young professionals working as teachers, lawyers, medical doctors and more. She even had the pleasure of escorting one of them to his traditional marriage ceremony.

We are so excites to send off our 2026 REACH for Uganda teens on our service trip! They get a chance to visit Uganda and volunteer in our schools and health clinics. While on their trip, these teens will be able to explore Uganda’s natural beauty and wildlife by going on hikes and a safari.

Our Annual Adult Trip to Uganda is underway! Starting June 26th and ending July 12th board members, including REACH's president Dick Burk and other members, highlight the functioning of REACH's operations in Uganda, but also international partnership between AAH and its sponsor school in Arlington Viriginia.

Personal connections are built through interactions with the sponsored students and their families throughout the visit.

At Arlington Traditional School, or MJS, Joyce, our co-founder is pictured introducing herself to the students, and giving an explanation of the organization, right after they read books and learned about Uganda! Student browse and purchase books, supporting their own reading, but also those in Uganda. On June 6th , REACH held a pancake breakfast and white elephant sale at the Arlington Woman’s Club. The purpose was to raise funds for our program in Uganda. This was our third annual pancake breakfast, and our first white elephant sale. Many friends and relatives cleaned out their storage areas and provided items for us to sell for profit. We were so grateful for the abundance of items and the support.

We were pleased to see many long-time supporters as well as many new attendees.
Both the pancake breakfast and the white elephant sale were well attended.

Bach to Rock, a music school in Fairfax, VA, provided music for the breakfast. It was a
nice addition to our event and helped to create an upbeat ambiance.
