💙 8th Grade Retreat: Growing in Respect

Thank you to our school administration, teachers and parents who joined our 8th graders today after Mass for a meaningful retreat focused on RESPECT.

Father Barnes led our students in a reflection on respecting authority and the important role parents, teachers, and administrators have in guiding and supporting our students. Our students were reminded that respect means honoring those responsibilities and trusting that the adults in their lives are working to help them become their best selves.

We also explored what it means to respect others—celebrating and cheering one another on, appreciating different cultures and ideas, and treating everyone with thoughtfulness and kindness. Through a hands-on activity, students had the opportunity to put these ideas into practice and connect the lesson of respect to their everyday lives. Through this process, we reflected on respect for ourselves—recognizing our own dignity and worth as children of God. Respect starts with how we treat God, others, and ourselves.

A beautiful day of faith, reflection, and growing together. 🙏💙

Hispanic Heritage Month Starts today and we are proud to celebrate and learn MORE about the rich heritage represented throughout our school community!

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at STM! Many flags. Many cultures. One beautiful community.
At St. Thomas More Cathedral School, we celebrate the beautiful diversity that makes our community so special. Our students, faculty, and staff are taking time to learn, celebrate, and appreciate the rich cultures, traditions, languages, and contributions of Hispanic communities by posing in front of the beautiful angel wings inspired by the flags of Latin American countries.

From those who proudly share Hispanic heritage to those who are joining in to learn and celebrate alongside their colleagues, friends and classmates, there is a place for everyone in this celebration!

Today at STM, we celebrated the birthday of our Blessed Mother with opportunities to Pray More, Serve More, and Learn More!

🙏🏼 Pray More: Students said a Hail Mary for someone else and added their prayer intentions to our “Mary, Pray for Us” Marian Prayer Wall.

💙 Serve More: Students chose acts of kindness and service as a special birthday gift for Mary—from encouraging notes and cards to helping others, caring for our school community, and praying for those who are sick, lonely, or struggling.

📖 Learn More: Our students also took time to “Meet Mary” and discover something new about the woman who said “yes” to God and became the mother of Jesus.

What a beautiful way to celebrate Mary’s birthday: through prayer, service, kindness, and growing closer to her Son. 💙🌹

🙏 This Week at STM: The Virtue of RESPECT

Our 8th graders kicked off our Virtue of the Month by presenting RESPECT to our school community and reminding us what it means to treat every person with dignity, kindness, and compassion.

This year’s theme is “STM Spreads Love,” and throughout the month, we’ll be reminded that respect means helping, guiding, and encouraging others with charity and love.

We’re also learning about St. Margaret of Castello, whose life reminds us of the dignity and worth of every person.

At STM, we strive to Pray MORE. Serve MORE. Learn MORE. — growing not only as students, but as faithful disciples. ❤️🙏
