Nos duele profundamente conocer las noticias del devastador terremoto que ha sacudido el país esta mañana. Pensamos especialmente en las personas que han perdido a seres queridos, en quienes han resultado heridas, en las familias que esperan noticias y en todas las comunidades que atraviesan momentos de miedo e incertidumbre.

Colombia y su gente forman parte de la comunidad de WLS y la cultura y el mundo que tanto queremos y celebramos cada día.

This is what happens when your Spanish teacher is from Argentina.

Mindy Martínez has taught at Work-Life Spanish for 3 years, and this is the first time we have seen her disappear into the World Cup completely. Yesterday, Argentina went down two goals to Egypt in the Round of 16, and Mindy suffered through every minute of it, the specific kind of suffering that only makes sense if you have watched Argentina play. Then Romero scored. Then Messi. Then Enzo Fernández buried the winner in stoppage time, 3 to 2, and the suffering turned into pure noise.

I love watching this side of Mindy. The same person who corrects your grammar with so much patience turns into someone who cannot sit still for ninety minutes plus stoppage time. This is "la Scaloneta," the Argentina team under coach Scaloni that never seems to know when a game is over, and Mindy suffers through every one of their comebacks like it is personal. Because it is.

We are rooting for her, and for Argentina, all the way to the final.
