Today, we honor the lives lost and the resilience shown on September 11, 2001.

Our own Antwan C. Williams, Assistant Dean for Marketing, Communications, Recruitment, and Graduate Admissions at the UTA School of Social Work, was working inside the Pentagon when it was attacked on 9/11. A retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, Antwan lost colleagues and friends that day and witnessed firsthand how quickly life can change.

Twenty-five years later, his story is one of service, resilience, remembrance, and giving back. Inspired by the support he received from social workers in the aftermath of the attacks, Antwan has dedicated himself to helping educate and prepare the next generation of social work leaders.

Today, we remember those who were lost, honor those who served, and reflect on the lasting impact of compassion, healing, and community. 🇺🇸 ❤️
