Juneteenth is a time to honor Black history, celebrate culture, and recognize the resilience and contributions of Black individuals, families, and communities throughout our nation's history.
In social work, we know that understanding the histories, experiences, and strengths of the communities we serve helps us build stronger relationships and provide more meaningful support. Juneteenth reminds us of the importance of listening, learning, and honoring the voices and stories that shape our communities.
Today, we celebrate freedom, resilience, and the enduring impact of community.
Happy Juneteenth from the UTA School of Social Work.
