Today we welcomed in Raising Arrows Co-op Home school for a tour of station 2 and some fire safety lessons. We hope everyone had a good time and learned some fire safety tips. We always welcome visitors to our stations. Stop on by and say hello.

Training never stops !! Today our members along with members of the Shelby county FD took part in rescue boat training hosted by the Millington Fire Department. The Water Rescue Operational Exercises at Orgill (Casper) Lake in Millington consisted of scenarios that included launching boats from the shoreline, cutting through roofs to simulate rescues from flooded homes, and locating points on the lake using GPS coordinates.
These exercises gave water rescue teams the chance to train together and build working relationships before responding to real-world rescue missions. The AFD currently has water rescue techs on each shift and two rescue boats.

Today it was Donelson Elementary’s turn for a little year end fun with a little AFD help !!

The end of the school year is close and to celebrate the Arlington Elementary School PTA asked the AFD to help out with a little cool off of the fifth graders who will be making their way to middle school next year !! No problem we love to step in and help while using the opportunity to practice and train with our aerial ladder and pump. We love being a part of the community!!

❗ If a Tornado Warning is issued, the Town will open the Tornado Safe Room at 11842 Otto Ln (next to Arlington Elementary).

Today our members took their regular EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course)class. This training is a specialized program designed for personnel to teach safe and effective driving techniques under high-stress conditions. It provides hands-on practice, including maneuvering in tight spaces, navigating obstacles, and managing vehicle dynamics. Each member of the department will complete this class.

Today members of our dept got to take part in the Dr. Seuss community reader day at Arlington Elementary. We appreciated the invite and love being a part of the Arlington community!!
