Congrats to ANSA’s Resolutions Chair, Susmita Simkhada who also served on TNSA as the Northern Regional Director. Here are some words she has to say:
“Being part of ANSA became one of the most meaningful parts of my nursing school journey. Serving as the Resolutions Chair helped me grow in confidence, step out of my comfort zone, and realize how important student voices truly are. Through ANSA, I gained unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and opportunities I never imagined, including attending conventions and representing our chapter.
During some of the hardest moments in nursing school, ANSA gave me support, belonging, and people who made the journey feel less overwhelming. It truly became like a second family to me.
After graduation, I will be studying for the NCLEX and starting my new graduate residency at Wesley Medical Center in Kansas.
My advice to every nursing student is to believe in yourself, get involved, and never be afraid to take chances. The journey is hard, but the memories and people you meet along the way make it all worth it🤍”

Congratulations to our graduating AO Coordinator, Connie! Here are some words she has to say:
“It still doesn’t fully feel real… but after 15 very long months, I officially graduated nursing school and accepted my Nurse Residency position at Baylor Scott & White in Temple on their Cardiac & Neuro Observation Unit.
Being the AO Coordinator for the Arlington Nursing Students’ Association was honestly one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. I got to be part of a group of like-minded individuals, meet so many amazing people, and help bring students together. In an accelerated online program, it can be really hard to meet people, find support, or find ‘your people’. I wanted to help bridge that gap and remind people they weren’t doing this alone.
Nursing school was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I balanced being a full-time employee, full-time student, full-time wife, and full-time mom all at once. The curriculum itself was challenging, but honestly the hardest part was missing out on family moments and trying to juggle everything for 15 straight months.
But it was also one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Especially during capstone, everything finally started falling into place. My preceptors and patients alike had such kind things to say to my clinical instructor, and hearing that gave me confidence during moments where I doubted myself. It reminded me that maybe I really can do this ‘nursing thing’.”

Get BLS certified… without even changing out of your pajamas 😌
Step 1: Do the online HeartCode course at home
Yes… bed, couch, matcha, snacks, all allowed
Step 2: Pull up to the Smart Hospital for a quick check-off
Look professional for like 45 minutes and you’re done
July is THE month to do this.
BLS lasts 2 years… so if you certify in July, you’re covered for basically your entire BSN program
If you do it too early and your cert expires mid-program…
the Clinical Coordinators will make you redo it before that semester starts.
