There was literally a line out the RIF NOVA door (er, tent) at today's Children's Summer Reading Festival, sponsored by the Fairfax Library Foundation! RIF NOVA gave out almost 1400 books from our donated books collection to eager children and their families. Even a special reader from the Nationals sat down for a quick read! And Clifford was there to meet and greet. The Great Falls YMSL volunteer organization of sons and moms was also a critical part of our team. Such a village to promote summer reading for children! Books change lives! RIF NOVA

The RIF NOVA tent is HOT at the Fairfax Library Foundation's Children's Summer Reading Festival! Come out to the Fairfax Government Center and choose free books from the RIF NOVA donated books collection! The book selection is amazing! Also the bounce house, food and drink, face painting, and everything else to excite kids about reading! Books change lives!!! Sad news to share about a prolific children's book author.

We're deeply saddened to share the news of Jane Yolen's passing, whose more than 450 books included the beloved How Do Dinosaurs… series and the Caldecott Medal–winning Owl Moon.
