AFAC Food Drive: Cultivating the Spirit of Giving
At FCMS, we believe it’s never too early to begin conversations with children about philanthropy and community care. Through our partnership with AFAC, students have the opportunity to experience firsthand the joy and responsibility of giving.
Whether it’s collecting food, helping a neighbor, or practicing daily grace and courtesy, these small, meaningful acts lay the foundation for a lifelong understanding of kindness, empathy, and social responsibility.
Exposure matters — when children see and participate in giving, they begin to absorb the values that lead to compassionate action.
Each week, our elementary children connect with and guide primary students as they volunteer together to distribute supplemental groceries from AFAC to neighbors in need.
By involving children in service at a young age, we nurture a deep understanding of the power of giving time to make a positive impact. This shared experience fosters meaningful connections across age groups and encourages a lifelong commitment to community.
