Thursday, August 13th is Independence Day at Dunn! ❤️🤍💙

Students are invited to wear red, white, and blue as we celebrate an important milestone—walking into the building and getting to class independently! 🎒✨

We know this can feel like a BIG step, especially for some of our younger Dragons, but don’t worry—we’ve got them covered!

👟 Staff members and our 6th Grade Safety Patrol will be ready to help make sure every student gets to their teacher safely.

Think of it as independence with training wheels! 😊

Parents, you can help your Dragon feel confident by:
❤️ Encouraging them with, “You can do it!”
💙 Reminding them that the adults at school are there to help.
🤍 Helping them practice being brave, confident, and independent!

Dunn Dragons — TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY! 🎒📚

We can’t wait to welcome our Dunn Dragons back for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 12th! We’re so excited to begin a new year together as we hit the trail to success! 🌲🏕️

Here are a few important reminders to help make your morning go smoothly:

🕗 Doors open at 7:45 AM
When you arrive, students can eat breakfast first or head straight to class.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families are welcome to walk their children to class on the first day! For the first day only, you will NOT need to scan your ID in the office before entering the building.

To help reduce traffic congestion, if you are planning to walk your student in, please park at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and walk across Arkansas to the school. The front drive is for drop-off only. No parking will be allowed in this area.

🚪 Families will exit the building at 8:15 AM
That’s when we’ll say our goodbyes and officially get this school year underway!

⏰ Tardy bell: 8:10 AM
We know getting back into the school morning routine can be a little challenging! Give yourself a little extra time tomorrow so you can arrive, get settled, and start the day without feeling rushed.

❤️ We are SO excited to see our students back in the building! Tomorrow is the beginning of a brand-new adventure, and we’re ready to hit the trail to success together!

Dunn families, please make sure you complete online registration and upload your current proof of address ASAP at www.aisd.net.

Join us for Sneak-a-Peek / Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 10th from 5-7 pm. You’ll be able to meet your child’s teacher, drop off school supplies, get updated information about our school procedures, and connect with the PTA. It’s going to be a great night and we hope to see all of you!

Please give a huge Dragon welcome to our new assistant principal, Mrs. Taylor! She is coming to us from HEB ISD, where she served as the administrator intern and interim assistant principal at Arbor Creek Elementary School. In her career, she has also served as a Reading Instructional Specialist, Content Specialist, 4th grade teacher, and Kindergarten teacher.

She has strong plans for supporting teachers, strengthening systems, and ensuring our school is the best place for every student to meet their full potential. Mrs. Taylor is ready to jump in and join us on the road to success!! Welcome to Dunn! ❤️🖤
