Leadership is always looking for ROI on any new technology. While cost savings and efficiency gains are expected and readily found, 48% of manufacturers consider revenue growth as part of ROI.

What’s notable is how teams are redefining what fits those characteristics. is being redefined. We heard more about compounding operational gains, higher throughput, fewer production disruptions, better asset utilization, and faster decision cycles. In other words, ROI is increasingly being measured in speed of correction and quality of decisions, not just cost saved.

The Great Acceleration shows that the companies making real progress with AI aren’t just focused on tools and technology, they’re focused on building confidence across their workforce, from the shop floor to leadership. As AI becomes more embedded in day-to-day operations, adoption depends less on capability and more on whether people trust the outputs, the process, and the decisions being supported by it.

The success of AI in manufacturing is increasingly becoming a people story, not just a technology one.

According to our latest research, The Great Acceleration, 78% of manufacturers are investing in AI upskilling as they move from pilots to enterprise-wide transformation, underscoring a clear shift toward building workforce readiness alongside technical capability.

The research shows that the manufacturers seeing the strongest results are those treating employees as central to the transformation. In the end, AI doesn’t create value on its own, it’s the people who know how to use it that turn potential into performance. Read more about the workforce impact: https://hubs.ly/Q04j4wt00.
