Jamaar Gardner is joining us from Midlothian, Texas!
Jamaar is majoring in finance, and chose his major because "Iām interested in entrepreneurship, branding, and learning how businesses grow financially."
He chose UTA because of the opportunities it provides for networking, internships and career growth in DFW. "I also love that UTA has a diverse student community and a strong environment for students who want to be creative, entrepreneurial, and involved on campus!"
Jamaar is most looking forward to making new friends and hopes to create a new student organization. "Iām excited to meet people with similar interests, experience college life, and continue to grow both personally and professionally."
This summer, Jamaar is "preparing to adapt to adulthood. Iāve been practicing important life skills like budgeting and self-advocacy, while also focusing on giving back to the people in need throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area."
His question for current students? "Iād ask current students what the best ways are to get involved in campus and meet new people early on. Iād also want to know whatās good food spots new campus that have a wide variety of good eats, along with what classes or professors they would recommend for freshmen."

Karen Rico is joining us from Fort Worth, Texas!
Karen is a transfer finance major who chose finance because "I've always been drawn to understanding how financial decisions can change someone's future. The idea of helping others understand how to elevate their finances and make confident choices to impact their lives."
She chose UTA because of its strong network in the DFW area, as well as its "diverse community and opportunities UTA offers."
Karen is looking forward to getting involved through student organizations, meeting new people and growing professionally. This summer, she plans to spend time with her family, take classes and participate in Fidelity's Boundless Program. "Itās a lot to juggle, but staying busy helps me build strong timeāmanagement skills and prepares me for the upcoming semester."
Her question for current students is: "Which classes/professors had the biggest impact on your college experience? What student organizations do you recommend joining to make the most out of my time at UTA?"

Avery Hoyler is joining us from Arlington, Texas!
Avery chose to major in business management because "Iāve always been interested in leadership and the way successful organizations operate behind the scenes.." She hopes to use her degree to grow as both a leader and a communicator while building a career where she can positively impact others.
Avery chose UTA because of its reputation, community and student opportunities. "I was drawn to the supportive environment and the emphasis on leadership, collaboration, and real-world experience. I also appreciated that UTA provides many ways for students to get involved, build connections, and prepare for successful careers after graduation."
She is most looking forward to meeting new people, building friendships, and getting involved with student organizations. "Iām also looking forward to growing alongside other students and creating connections that will last beyond college."
This summer, Avery is working and spending time with her friend and family while preparing for her next chapter! Her question for current students is, "What's your favorite tradition or experience on campus?"

Evie Nelson is joining us from Midlothian, Texas!
Evie plans on majoring in Business Entrepreneurship and hopes to stay connected to her passion for robotics. "Business is the glue of all innovation and I am in love with it. In this new wave of technology, I will be at the ethical forefront, making the world a better place."
She chose the College of Business because it "is one of the only schools that has an entrepreneurship major, and I have never felt more seen. To have the opportunity for real-world entrepreneurship during college is so exciting."
Evie says she "can't wait to see new faces and make life-long connections. Additionally, I am looking forward to study abroad opportunities." She also plans on joining the Formula SAE.
This summer, she will be working as a Red Bull student marketer and has plans to assist Camp RYLA. "Additionally, I love the outdoors, and I am planning to go rock climbing, paddle boarding, and pick up the dirt bike again. Hopefully, I get some time on my family's ranch and spend time with friends & family."
Evie has a few questions for current students. "What is the best transportation around campus (skateboard, bike walk, etc). What is a class you suggest all undergrads to take? What is the best resource at UTA to utilize?"
