Today I (Coach Alissa) showed up at the gym without my workout shoes… 👟 in my UGGs of all things. After I was already late due to traffic.
But this was sort of just the tip of the iceberg for me… see, lately, life has kinda been kicking my butt. I’ve got a lot on my plate, I’m constantly running and juggling, I’m mentally drained and physically exhausted. And I have missed a lot of workouts lately. 😞
And I could throw in the towel completely… I could have given up on the gym all together, let my nutrition go as well, and told myself there was no point in trying if I couldn’t be 💯 on all the time. I could have turned around and gone home today when I realized I wasn’t prepared. But I didn’t…
Because the reality it, we may never be able to give 💯 effort every single day, all of the time, to any one thing. That is life. It’s messy, it can be stressful, unexpected, and unpredictable.
Your health and wellness journey doesn’t need to be 💯 all of the time. It simply needs to be whatever you have to give on a consistent basis. It needs to be showing up with whatever you’ve got and giving it your best effort in that moment, for yourself now and yourself in the future.
Like lifting in UGGs. Not ideal, but it got the job done, and I’m 💯 better off than if I had turned around and gone home.
Remember: consistency is key 🔑 this is a marathon for life, not a sprint for a season. And that marathon will have strong days, and slower days; days where you need to rest, and days where it’s better to walk if you have to, just to keep moving. But there is beauty in the idea that we have the grace to make this what works best for us, to individualize our goals, and our plan to reach them. And adjust once we are there. ❤️
Whatever you do, just keep going. 💪🏻 Aim for progress, not perfection.
