The 5th Annual Business Beyond the Battlefield Conference continued its success as a premier business development experience for military connected entrepreneurs hosted by Veterans Business Outreach Center University of Texas at Arlington.
This year’s event included the Military Entrepreneur Challenge (MEC) powered by Second Service Foundation. MEC is a three-part event led by the Second Service Foundation with support from its partners: the U.S. Small Business Administration Community Navigator Pilot Program, Institute for Veterans and Military Families - IVMF , Holland and Knight Law, and the Sam Adams Brewing the American Dream.
The event includes a speed coaching session, private pitch session to a judging panel, and finally an opportunity to pitch business ideas to a live audience for a chance to win a small business grant.
Bryant “Griff” Griffith is a U.S. Marine Corps , founder and CEO of JAWS - Junk and Waste Solutions and one of twelve cohort members in the UTA Community Navigator and Veterans Business Outreach Center University of Texas at Arlington Spark for Veterans Incubator where the curriculum included pitch preparation.
Griff was the overall winner, receiving a $2,00 grant, a $5,000 promotional package, and $20,000 in in-kind legal services from Holland and Knight Law!
