UTA Professor Marion Ball's book, 𝘕𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘈 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴, 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦, 5𝘵𝘩 𝘌𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, has been translated into Mandarin. Dr. Ball continues to bring change through shaping the future of health science on a global scale, all while providing tremendous visibility to UTA.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: The publishers of Dr. Ball's latest book, 𝘕𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘈 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴, 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦, 5𝘵𝘩 𝘌𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, hosted a book signing at the MEDINFO 2025 conference in Taiwan to celebrate its translation into Korean and now Mandarin, the most widely spoken language other than English.

Going deeper: Ball is an internationally recognized leader in health informatics. Her textbooks provide important industry perspectives on the selection, implementation, and management of health care information systems. Having these textbooks rewritten in multiple languages for use by physicians, nurses, medical directors, department heads, and health care informaticians shows her commitment and dedication.

INTERNATIONAL AWARD NAMED FOR UTA'S MARION BALL

The International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) created the Marion Ball Leadership Award this year to recognize individuals who demonstrate exceptional vision and impact in health informatics. Ball, a member of the National Academy of Medicine, recently received the inaugural honor during IMIA’s international conference in Taipei, Taiwan.
