Being intentional matters.

In self defense, randomly throwing techniques usually isn't effective. We train students to recognize vulnerable targets and act with purpose.

The same is true spiritually. The enemy attacks through lies, and we answer those lies with God's truth. We don't fight blindly. We fight intentionally.

Two months ago, one of our Invictus family members suffered a cardiac arrest during class.

By God's grace, he survived, and we continue to thank Him for the many people who were there that night to help save his life. He has even been able to start training with us!

Recovery has been a long process. Since the incident, he hasn't been able to work. The good news is that both he and his wife are close to beginning new jobs. The challenge is making it through until those first paychecks arrive.

That's where we, as a community, have the opportunity to help.

We've opened our Invictus Relief Fund to help their family through this temporary season. Donations will first be used to help meet this family's immediate financial needs. If we're blessed with more than they need, the remaining funds will remain in our Invictus Relief Fund so we can continue helping families who face unexpected hardships in the future.

Good training doesn't happen by accident. Over the past several months we've been refining our curriculum to make it clearer, more organized, and easier for students to follow as they grow. These updates aren't about changing who we are. They're about helping students understand exactly where they are, where they're going, and how we'll help them get there.

Last night was great!

There’s something special about the first night back after a break. You can hear the excitement before class even starts. Students catch up with friends. Instructors catch up with families. And before long, everyone is working and sweating together like we never left.

Thanks to everyone who came back ready to work! We’re excited to see what the Lord has in store this month!

Not every thought deserves your attention.

Just because something pops into your mind doesn't mean you have to believe it, dwell on it, or act on it.

One of the greatest gifts God has given us is the ability to choose where we place our focus.

That's a skill worth developing.

Summer break has been a great chance to rest and recharge, but we’re excited to get back on the mats this Monday.

When classes resume you’ll notice a few changes, including our new class schedule, updated curriculum guide, our completely redesigned Core Combatives program, Warrior Wellness, and online training calendar options. (Look for details in tomorrow’s email.)
