Robin worked diligently with intention, dedication and tenacity to create this large scale graphite drawing of a giraffe. To watch Robin's observational skills and understanding of graphite pencil, stick, blending stumps and tools to create values, shading and imagery was quite impressive! Robin has been taking art lessons with The Art Room for the past 5 years and has truly grown into a highly skilled and creative artist!

Brooke, high school freshman artist student of The Art Room, created this intense portrait using gouache paint. She worked diligently with layering and repainting areas until she was satisfied with the final effect. The lighting of the lit matchstick upon the face is quite dramatic! Brooke has understanding of shadowing and creating various hues to describe surface details in this portrait. Some of the best rewards for an artist include having the tenacity to work through all of the problems that come up during the process of creating. Well done! 🎨

June means celebrating 8 Years Officially (19 years total) of The Art Room offering Private, Semi-Private and Small Group Art Lessons at my art school studio! After 28 years as an art educator in both the private and public schools, I officially launched The Art Room in June, 2018. I am so very blessed to have such wonderfully creative, highly gifted artist students taking lessons at The Art Room! Enrollment is nearly at capacity with a waiting list!. Please celebrate The Art Room's 8 Year Anniversary by entering our Giveaway! To all students and their families, past and present, you can enter by submitting a Google Review of The Art Room.
All reviews will be entered in our Giveaway and the winner at the end of June will receive an Artists Portfolio filled with professional grade artist’s materials valued at $230!

Thank you to all of my students and their families for celebrating my birthday with me this past week! I am so very blessed by the outpouring of flowers, cards and birthday wishes from my students & parents ! What a gift it is to have such wonderfully creative and kind students to work with in the studio! I am very grateful to continue to do what I am most passionate about, teaching art, and inspiring young artists to follow their creative dreams! Thank you also to family and friends who have supported me and The Art Room and came out last Thursday night to celebrate my big birthday! Feeling blessed and loved 💙🎂🎉

I hope everyone can come out tonight to 's 100 Under $100 art show's Opening Reception 5/1, 7-9pm! I will be featuring two of my artworks, Michigan Blueberries & Fall in Long Grove. And there will also be many of my students of included in this art show. Lots of local artists artwork for sale all pieces under $100. This is a great opportunity to purchase artwork & support local artists! Can't wait to see you all there tonight!

Dahlia's beautiful acrylic painting on canvas captures this gorgeous sunset over the ocean and the waves gently rolling on the beach sand. She learned glazing techniques to create the layers and luminosity of this beautiful scene. Dahlia is an eighth grade artist student of and has taken lessons for many years. It has been an honor to watch her skills grow and guide her development into a highly skilled artist!
