We had a special visitor today! Our friends from the Arlington Heights Library stopped by to visit our Twos, PrePrimary, and PreK kids and share some stories with us.

The children enjoyed listening, looking at the pictures, and being part of story time with our visiting librarian. Thank you, Arlington Heights Library, for spending part of your day with us and helping make reading extra special! 🥰📚

Our PreK students were busy exploring, practicing, and building today during free choice.

💧 Pouring & funnels: Practicing control and hand-eye coordination while exploring how water moves through different containers and how funnels help direct the flow.

🔤 Letter Tt: Finding and covering the letter Tt for a little extra letter recognition practice.

🥣 Tongs: Transferring items from one bowl to another while working on fine-motor strength, coordination, and precision.

🚗 Building: Creating roads, houses, and car-filled neighborhoods while working on spatial awareness, planning, and imaginative play.

A playground favorite here at Little Learners! Our children are practicing listening and following directions, self-control, body awareness, balance, coordination, and learning to stop and start their bodies on cue.

Our little forest explorers in the Two’s Room are having fun learning all about the forest! 🌲🦨 From camping in their tent and searching with binoculars to grilling up some pretend campfire food and even dressing up like a skunk, they are bringing learning into their play. 🏕️🔭

Meet Cici. Our Pre-K friend carefully made CiCi a cozy bed out of leaves and made sure she was all tucked in. 🥴

Our infants got hands-on with some finger painting as they created their very own muddy little pigs! 🐖🤎

Sensory painting gives babies the chance to explore textures, colors, and cause-and-effect while strengthening fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and those tiny developing muscles in their hands and fingers.

The Pre-K explored process art by using watercolor and paintbrushes to follow a moving gem across the paper. 🖌️

As the gem traveled in different directions, the children practiced
👀hand-eye coordination
🖐🏻fine-motor control
👁️visual tracking
✏️pre-writing movements while creating their own unique line designs

There was no right or wrong way to create, allowing the children to focus on exploration and creativity! ✨
