Academic Letters & Honors

We are proud to recognize the Arkansas City High School students who earned an Academic Letter/Honors but were not recognized during our recent ceremony.
This recognition celebrates students who met high academic standards as well as discipline and eligibility requirements throughout the year. While these students were unintentionally missed during the ceremony, their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence deserve to be celebrated!

Parents and guardians of students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 may have received a permission form for the upcoming Kansas Communities That Care (KCTC) Student Survey.

The KCTC Survey helps schools better understand the factors that support student success, as well as challenges students may be facing. Questions cover topics such as school climate, connections with family and community, peer influences, substance use, and other areas related to student well-being.

In Ark City Schools, this information can help guide:
• Student support programs
• Mental health and crisis prevention efforts
• Substance use prevention education
• School and community planning

The data can also help schools and community organizations identify needs, build partnerships, and seek funding for programs and resources that support local students and families.

Students in participating grade levels will have an opportunity to take the survey Sept. 9.

💜💛 A Morning to Remember 💛💜
Senior Sunrise was the perfect way to begin this special year together. There was good food, plenty of laughter, and most importantly, time spent with friends and the people who make these moments meaningful.

These are the mornings our seniors will remember long after graduation: sitting together, laughing a little too loudly, making memories, and realizing that this chapter of their lives is already beginning to move a little too quickly. 🥹

A heartfelt thank you to the students and families who helped make Senior Sunrise possible and so special. Your time, generosity, and willingness to show up for our seniors mean more than you know.

A special shout-out to Dezi, Armina, and Gabby for capturing so many of these special moments for us! 📸💜💛

ACHS Hope Squad members recently traveled to the campus of Emporia State University to participate in the Connect & Empo...

ACHS Hope Squad members recently traveled to the campus of Emporia State University to participate in the Connect & Empower Con Teen Su***de Prevention Conference. Our students participated in a youth discussion panel in front of nearly 170 adult participants from around the state. Participants asked our students questions about youth mental health, how Hope Squad has impacted them and how they plan to use their skills in the future. The students got the chance to connect with conference attendees by helping them with an activity that the students do at school called “Positive Pins.”

Advisor Eric Burr said, “I am so proud of how poised our students were and how well they represented our program. They are truly blazing a trail for other communities in the state.”

Hope Squads in Cowley County are the only ones of their kind in the entire state. The work continues as our Hope Squad gears up for another year providing support and positivity for our students.

Los miembros del Hope Squad de ACHS viajaron recientemente al campus de Emporia State University para participar en la conferencia de prevención del suicidio juvenil Connect & Empower Con. Nuestros estudiantes participaron en un panel de discusión juvenil frente a casi 170 adultos de todo el estado. Los participantes hicieron preguntas a nuestros estudiantes sobre la salud mental de los jóvenes, cómo Hope Squad los ha impactado y cómo planean utilizar sus habilidades en el futuro.
