I’m a mommy to a crazy little red head, and I’m passionate about traveling, photography and making an impact on other women's lives! My photography passion started at a young age, when my sister and I would give our fellow home school girls makeovers and a photo shoot! I’ve been a professional photographer for three years now and I specialize in fashion based high school seniors, boudoir, and weddings! (I might warn you, I may get a little silly sometimes!) My goal is to give you a fun, fresh experience and some amazing heirloom artwork to display in your home!

No one will get photos like these again.

Pose tip of the week: TAKE THE PHOTOS. ❤️

I always thought I’d get to plan a proper photoshoot at this spot at night after this trip. These were just some fun test shots as I wandered the streets of Paris.

This spot at the Louvre was open to explore late at night my first few visits to Paris (Pre Emily in Paris popularity level), but it’s since been blocked off. Now, instead of being able to respectfully explore in and around the Louvre at night, there are gates. And,  most recently, it broke my heart to see they’ve even started turning the Louvre lights off after midnight.

I can’t go back and recreate these photos, and honestly, that makes me appreciate these not so perfect photos even more.

Ladies, take the photos. Even if it’s just your phone. (These are a mix of phone and dslr shots!) Even if the lighting isn’t great. Even if you feel awkward or aren’t sure what to do in front of the camera. Take them anyway. You don’t need perfect conditions to have photos you’ll be glad you have one day.

And if you’ve ever avoided taking photos because you feel uncomfortable in your body, feel awkward in front of the camera, or simply don’t know how to pose or take photos of yourself, I get it. And I’ve got you.

My twin sister has always said she’s not photogenic.

And as someone who has spent years in front of the camera, then even more years behind it photographing women, I see this differently.

I’ve learned how to move in front of a camera. I know how a small shift in my shoulders, the position of my chin, where I place my hands, or the way I distribute my weight can change an image.

Most women have never been taught those things. They get in front of a camera, feel awkward, don’t know what to do with their hands, and assume they just aren’t photogenic.

But you don’t have to instinctively know how to pose. You can learn. It’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about showing women how to look and feel incredible in photographs.

Whether you’re investing in branding images for your business, portraits for yourself/ partner, or photos to celebrate a season of life, you deserve to know what’s possible when someone shows you how to work with the camera instead of feeling like you have to figure it all out yourself.

My posing classes (and how to market with your photos ;) are coming before the end of the year, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on.

When a fellow curly girl comes all the way from Austria to Texas… obviously we had to do a photoshoot.

As a fellow curly girl, I was so excited to photograph her and those LONG gorgeous curls. If you have or know someone with curly hair, then you know how hard it can be to grow long curly hair!! We started our photoshoot in the studio, then headed outside and played with a few different looks.

And honestly… we got SO many pretty images!

Happy Birthday to us, my built in best friend. 😉🤍

This year has brought a lot of change, and I have a feeling there’s a lot more ahead. One of the biggest gifts this year has been learning to hear God’s voice and slowly letting go of years of religion. I’m getting to know a God who heals, who isn’t afraid of my mess, and who calls me into freedom & trust. 

I’m also so thankful for another year of creating, traveling, meeting incredible people, and helping more women see themselves with a little more kindness and confidence.

I’m really grateful for everyone who’s been part of this year! Here’s to whatever this next chapter brings. Happy Birthday to us!

Weekly pose tip:

Good posture IS one of the most important components of a pretty photo! (Thank you to my teenage ballet teacher!)

I always tell the women in front of my camera to imagine a string at the back of their neck gently lifting them up

Then, breathe gently as you roll your shoulders down your back and gently tilt your chin down.👌

If you still feel tense or that imagery isn’t working for you, pull your shoulder blades together, take a deep breath, then roll your shoulders down.

This one things makes such a big difference on camera.

As a past model and current photographer, posing for photos is one of my favorite parts of the photshoot. So much of this is teaching you how to move, not just pose. I’ll guide you the whole way so it looks effortless.
Post tip of the week: movement. A huge part of looking good on camera and getting a full gallery is small, intentional movements, think subtle shoulder shifts, slow spins, and photogenic walking. Let me know if you guys would want some specific videos on how to do this
