🚗✨ Family Friday Parade at W.S. Ryan Elementary! ✨🚌

Our Pre-K students had an unforgettable day celebrating Family Friday with a joyful Transportation Parade as part of Week of the Young Child® (WOYC)! The excitement was in the air as students proudly showcased their creative transportation-themed projects, cheered on by their families and the entire campus community.

We absolutely loved having our parents join us—it means so much to see families actively supporting their children's learning. Their presence and encouragement reinforce the importance of home-school connections, and our students lit up with pride knowing their grown-ups were part of the celebration.

Even more inspiring was how the entire W.S. Ryan campus came together to celebrate and uplift Pre-K learning. From clapping to offering high-fives, students and staff from every grade level helped create a truly special moment for our youngest learners.

At W.S. Ryan, we believe that strong family partnerships are essential to helping young children grow, thrive, and feel confident. As NAEYC reminds us, family members are a child’s first and most important teachers.

📸 We'd love to see how you celebrated Family Friday!

🎨 Pre-K was the place to be for Artsy Thursday!
Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students teamed up to color posters designed by the talented art students from Braswell High, Denton High, and Ryan High—with support from the Braswell Student Council. What a beautiful example of creativity and community coming together! 💛🖍️

Think, problem solve, create!
Open-ended art projects allow children to make choices, use their imaginations, and create with their hands. Through art, they’re building creativity, social skills, and fine motor development—all while having fun!

On Artsy Thursday, we celebrate the joy and learning that happens when young minds are engaged in meaningful, hands-on art experiences. 🎨✨

Denton ISD Celebrates Music Monday at Newton Rayzor Elementary! 🎶

Ms. Barnett, our amazing music teacher, led a special lesson for our Pre-K students focused on exploring the different sounds of music. Students used a variety of instruments while moving to the beat—engaging both their bodies and minds. Our Kindergarten students were wonderful role models, showing our youngest learners how to listen and move to the sound.

When children sing, dance, and listen to music, they’re not just having fun—they’re building essential language and early literacy skills! Music inspires movement, sparks creativity, and supports active learning, helping our students grow in joyful, meaningful ways.

Let’s keep the rhythm going! 💃🕺🎵
