I’m excited about the bat speed program starting tonight. Lots of research and prep work and we are ready to go. We will document the average ball exit speed tonight and see where we can get to in 6 weeks. Working hard to get these guys ready to swing the -3 bats.

Starting Mid June and going through July I will be working with junior high and high school players on a strength and bat speed program. The program is designed for players to hit two days a week in groups of 2-4 players. The workout is about 45 minutes and will incorporate a system built around swinging a heavier bat as well as medicine ball training and plyometrics. We are focusing on players making a transition to a -3 bat. I am in the process of ordering specific equipment and I wanted to see how many kids would be interested. I could take up to 12 players for the program training two days a week. Please let me know if you are interested.

After 10 games and a record of 8-2 the Alabama Astros are hitting a combined .444 team batting average and averaging over 9 runs a game. We work hard to develop the right swing that translates to live hitting. That's the difference.
