You may wonder why kids and teens are in this workshop together. School may categorize in the same groups, but life doesn't. I've learned from the older generation, and from the younger, too, and teaching students to listen and have discussions with people of all ages is priceless.

If your child is naturally gifted in social skills and is an extrovert, they may not need to come. But if your child struggles to meet people, join in, and talk with others without running away or caving in, they may love this small group workshop.

When kids want to do something that requires speaking, presenting, or trying out for a part in a play, but are too anxious to do it, it can be disappointing. As a parent, you may not know about their struggles with the hidden fears of social anxiety, but as a teacher, I saw many kids struggling with it.

Unfortunately, teachers don't have time to help all the students who need extra training in this area.

In this workshop, we will work on helping your student gain the extra confidence they need to push their own boundaries.

These days, most teachers I know see a large gap in social skills, and that's what this workshop is all about. Not necessarily how to say "please" and "thank you", but to feel more comfortable in social settings, trying out for things, or simply adding to conversations and expressing their ideas. These are skills we work on to improve in fun ways! So message me if you have a child who would like to participate!

Spontaneous Art Meet-Up 🎨

THIS SATURDAY, 3/28/2026!

I’m hosting a relaxed kids’ drawing class at my home and wanted to open it up to anyone who’d like to join!

🖍️ All supplies are provided
🥪 Bring a lunch (or don't)
👨‍👩‍👧 Parents are welcome to stay

Drop in between 11:45 and 12:00. After lunch, we’ll spend about an hour drawing together in a fun, low-pressure space.

As a creative and a perfectionist, I struggle with seeing mistakes in my own work.

To me, there are two extremes.

On one side, there are artists that make their work so exact, it’s hard to tell if it’s a photo or not. Their paintings are so very perfect that they deserve high recognition and lots of money to compensate for their skills. Truly.

On the other side of the extreme, what makes my heart beat, is simplicity. Maybe it comes out of a rushed world, or maybe it comes out of an unfocused mind. Not really sure.

The only thing that stays deeply true is who I am as a person that spills over into my art and influences it, and the knowing I must do something to keep building my skills-even if it’s a 5 minute practice.
